So simple!

I just needed something that let me pick a plan/times and then tells me when my eating window is open or closed, none of the other tracking, no fancy tips and tricks, no in-app purchases. Just something that says ‘can’t eat yet’ ‘you have this much longer to get your meal in then it’s fasting time’. So easy, so basic, just what I was looking for.

Didn’t like it after all

I wanted a fasting app that I didn’t have to press “start fast” and “stop fast” on. This was that app. However, on one occasion I began my fast later than usual. I attempted to adjust my start time the next morning. I found that I could not alter the prior days time. I could only edit “today’s time”. So, on a 16:8 fast if I entered a 2-hour later eating window for “today” because I began my fast 2 hours later the prior evening, this app would calculate that I had fasted for 18 hours because I could not adjust the start time from the prior evening.
After this happened I tried to completely end fasting on this app. I couldn’t. Selecting “I don’t want to fast today.” set a timer for a 29 hour eating window which means it was going to begin my next fast rather than completely stop it. There was no way for me to completely end fasting on this app. The only other option this app gives is to select a different fasting plan. You can turn off notifications but that’s not enough. It’s still running, logging fasting days based on the plan you selected. Once you start using this app, there is no “off” button. After realizing this app is like a runaway train, I decided to delete it.

Love it, but am not receiving notifications

I really like this app. It is simple and easy to use, and not cluttered up with a lot of other stuff that just gets in the way, like other fasting apps that I’ve tried. But, even though I have the settings in Daily Fast set to receive notifications an hour before my fasting/eating windows close, I am not receiving those notifications. Also, for some strange reason this app does not show up in my iPad (iOS) settings anywhere, including the Notifications category. So I am not able to set up the ability to receive notifications from Daily Fast there either. I was also unable to contract the app owner (Travis Ma) to get any help. I clicked on App Support, but there was no real way to contact him.
