This app doesn’t even want my email address, let alone my money, to watch a diverse collection of well-made nonfiction. That’s worth five stars right there.It helps that the clean, minimalist interface is easy to navigate. There aren’t any bells or whistles, but I don’t miss them. Who needs a watchlist when you want to watch half the library?Many theaters that would have screened these films won’t reopen post-COVID and many streaming services bury these films behind bloated catalogs and messy menus. This app arrived in the right places at the right time.

I downloaded the app and within minutes I decided to watch a film. The film was “I Am Another You” by award-winning filmmaker Nanfu Wang. I was blown away by the sensitive storytelling and the incredible cinematography and editing. This app is curating the best documentary films in one place and is a champion for independent filmmakers. To be honest, I’ve been bored by the selection of documentaries on major streamers like Netflix because they are so corporatized! So happy I found this app and I can’t wait to watch more documentaries from incredible filmmakers.
