Facebook 12+

This used to be a great app, but these days Meta decides what you will see and how you will experience Facebook. For example, I always disable the in-app sounds because they are annoying and unnecessary, but every few days the app enables the pointless noises on its own. The newsfeed has been taken over by so-called suggested posts, which range from random local news stations I don’t care about to bigoted memes and there is no way to disable seeing these “suggested” posts. The “hide all from” feature is also broken - I hide a post from a group and I continue to see posts from that group anyway? Like, how even? This is not supposed to be Twitter, I don’t want stuff shoved into my feed if I didn’t seek it out. I want to see my friend’s posts, not stuff from a page I don’t even follow. I don’t mind ads, Meta needs to pay the light bill somehow, but this pointless engagement baiting by Meta is really irritating.
And then there are the blatant copy and paste scams flooding Marketplace and groups. Scams for handyman services and expensive items seem to be the most common and all of them have enough similarities to be removed by the same algorithm which automatically bans you in your swear at someone. Each time I report these posts and accounts, Facebook tells me that the posts don’t violate the rules. It’s really wild that they’d rather keep the scams up for engagement and ad placement rather than protect their users from crimes.

Every time I try to access fb for the past 2 months I get a screen saying “the link may be broken or the page may have been removed” i’ve had other friends search up my account and it’s perfectly fine. No one has hacked me.. I am able to change my password and receive notifications from fb but I’m still met with this interference. I’ve reached out to Facebook for help, I’ve emailed and also reported the issue and also tried to reach out to Mark Zuckerberg himself all to no avail. I have deleted the app and re-downloaded it, I have updated the app and even attempted to make a new account to see if the issue was the app and a new account works just fine just not my old one.. Facebook hasn’t reached out to me to say I’ve been banned or I have done something inappropriate even, there’s nothing! I am just not able to login anymore for no reason.
I’ve had my fb account for almost 10 years now & I am suddenly having these issues. If facebook is banning me or whatever I really wish they’d just remove my account altogether so I can make a new one & move on instead of the hopes that I gain access to it again, it’s completely ridiculous that there’s no one who you can contact for these issues!! I’ve heard of ppl taking them to small claims for court this, they’ve done it to so many others, not fair & shouldn’t be right, especially without an explanation!

this is supposed to be a "Open opinion" no judgment for conversations or debates or just a fun app to share memes and stay connected with friends and family however you use it might I say may cause you to be
"Blocked" for either several hours the first couple times of being "Warned" by Facebook if they take down one of your posts for whatever reason they pick (For no apparent reason) and you will start off with a few hours to a few days or even MONTHS and I believe some get their account deleted completely because of Facebook disagreements on peoples posts and you may think "Hm I don't post nothing bad" or "That won't happen to me" trust me there will be one post and you will share it and Facebooks very hypocritical self will take down your posts and even block you account meanwhile for Facebook being so "Wanna keep Facebook a safe place" I see a lot of disturbing and down right horrible things online (people dying, accidents, cartel videos of people getting chopped up, Drugs, fights) and just way more than you can ever think you'd see on a app that apparently wants to keep everyone safe why not worry about the posts that you should be worrying about I have been blocked for quite a while now and soon will be "Unblocked" for weeks finally and am now writing a review before deleting the app to warn people of facebooks ridiculous choices and rules on the app.
