Words come to your eyes instead of your eyes hunting for words. Now you can send any article or file here from the Share button. No ads, no tracking.
Flash Reader shows you one word at a time, right where your eyes already are. No more scanning across lines. You just read.
Here's the thing about normal reading: most of it is your eyes moving around. They jump a few times a second and keep flicking backwards to re-check words they already passed. Flash Reader holds each word still in one spot, so the only thing left to do is actually read it.
WHAT MAKES IT DIFFERENT
Most speed reading apps feel like a metronome, which is why you quit them. Flash Reader doesn't. It eases up on long sentences, takes a small breath at punctuation, and gives you a little more time on the harder words. So you take it in instead of just racing past it.
• One word at a time, fixed in place, so your eyes stop hunting
• Pacing that adjusts to sentence length and word difficulty
• A focus letter on every word to hold your gaze
• Three modes: Natural, Mechanical, and Meditative
• Set your own speed, anywhere from 150 to 600 words a minute
READ WHATEVER YOU WANT
• Import EPUB, PDF, and TXT files
• Paste in any text
• Drop in an article link and pull the text out
• New: send things straight from Safari or any other app. Tap Share, pick Flash Reader, and the article, text, or file lands in your library
• Two classic books included to get you going
QUIET BY DESIGN
• No accounts, no sign-in
• No ads, no subscriptions, no in-app purchases
• No analytics, no tracking. Your reading never leaves your phone
• Works offline once your books are in
• You pay once and that's it
SAVE THE LINES THAT STICK
Highlight any sentence as it goes by and keep it in your own collection.
Two themes depending on your mood: a true-black Slate and a clean Lab.
Flash Reader is a calm, do-one-thing-well app for people who want to read more without the friction.
Read through a single line of sight.
