PS: The lightweight choice is One Markdown. If you need a complete and powerful app, please take a look at MWeb, I hope you like it!
This app is great! It does what it says it will do in a straightforward and even elegant manner. Concerning some reviewers comments about “rent-ware” (i.e., subscription pricing). I see this complaint a lot in iOS/iPadOS reviews and wanted to provide some insight. Using a subscription model allows the developer(s) to continue the development of their app…a continuous revenue stream. One-time purchases **do not**! When an app is purchased for one price, the developer(s) have absolutely no financial incentive to continue development (except from new customers). From my experience, though, the overwhelming portion of a dev’s income is from **repeat** users, who are familiar with the software. If the app pleases users, most will happily pay under a subscription model. For those of us that have been around for a while,we remember pricing models from before Apple introduced the App Store model, which revolutionized the software ecosystem. In the “old (dark) days,” it was not atypical when buying an app for a specific purpose to have to choose from a limited number of choices and pay many hundreds of dollars. Today, you typically find a plethora of choices when looking for an app that cost a tiny fraction of what one used to have to pay. In other words, we’re kinda spoiled…and some don’t even realize it. In my mind, this is the definitive “win-win” situation: you now have tens of thousands of eager developers creating a smorgasbord of offerings: everything from general purpose productivity apps to specialty “niche” apps that serve a specific audience. Not only that, but these apps are typically priced in the single-to two-digit dollar range. So when you complain about “rent-ware,” please consider whether you want to see continued improvements and enhancements to you favorite software title…or see it wither and die from lack of funds to continue development. Thanks for reading.
2-way synchronized scrolling with an on/off switch
PowerObject!
Please add option to view line numbers. There is no Save / Undo / Redo / Cancel buttons to apply or discard changes. Some files get saved when we open/close files even if we don’t make any changes. Some files show different date compared to dates shown in Files app. Whatever changes we make are final which is not good - please provide these buttons. The scrolling is sync’ed when we scroll the left markdown panel (it scrolls preview on the right) but when the preview pane on the right is scrolled, it does not scroll the markdown pane. Better yet, provide a Synchronized Scrolling switch in the settings and also on the toolbar for quick access (default=yes) for on-demand scrolling or turning it off/on quickly for any reason like keeping the other pane sync’ed/unaffected from scrolling. I’ll gladly give this app 5 stars after fixing these issues
Awesome app AND NOT Rent-Ware

First, to the developer, thank you for for the option for a lifetime option. I’m so sick of rent-ware. I use TextMate on my Mac Desktop that I love. Was looking for something similar. This is fantastic markdown editor. Includes features for Table of Contents and Word Count. Now, I can write my articles and easily move them into Adobe InCopy. I was using Ulysses app. This is so much better. If anyone reading this, if you write books etc, check out MWeb app from the same developer. Easily bundle your books like you do with Ulysses. I prefer this app as we have our own NextCloud server and don’t is iCloud.
Phenomenal App

I use it mostly for desktop, but I am trying to get out for mobile right now. I’m a huge fan of this app because I really enjoy apps that specialize in one thing and do one thing really well.Typically for me to view a markdown file I had to use Notion or my IDE, and I’m just not a huge fan of Notion at all. It was a huge headache to have to use it all the time and so now that I can view my documents in One Markdown and just open them from my folder it’s very simple to use, it does exactly the job I need it to and nothing more. I really appreciate this app.
* Bug fixes and improvements.
