Awesome Credit Union

We have been members of Goldenwest for about 30 years and have always been treated with kindness and respect! The location we deal with seems like it is a training location as we never see the same people there for long periods of time, but the ones that are there, and have been for a while, as well as the short termers, always take the time to say hi and ask how we’re doing! We have never had any problems with Goldenwest at all and would definitely recommend them to anyone looking for a great credit union!

Some updates better. Some changes for the worst.

I’ve been using this app for quite a few years now. Overall, I have seen some improvements in functionality. Recently, however I find the updates often make the app less useful. For example, it is no longer possible to edit the dollar amount or the payment date for a scheduled payment using Bill Pay. If you want to do that, you have to go through the Goldenwest website, which is a huge hassle. Also, I noticed with the latest update that now the app isn’t even listed in my app library although it does show up on my phones main screen. For the last year or two, I have not been getting alerts until and unless I open the app, at which point I don’t need the alert anymore. When I finally do get the alert, once I’m already in the app, the message is truncated on my phone screen where there’s plenty of real estate, but I can read the entire alert on my watch for some reason. That makes no sense. It is nice to be able to download statements from the phone app, but why can’t I manage my CDs from the Phone app the way I can with my other credit union? Overall, it’s a decent app, but it seems like every update takes away more functionality than it adds.

Old interface was better, this new update over complicated things

The app just got recently updated including a complete GUI overhaul and it’s horrible. The old interface was so much easier to manage and very straight forward. I can’t find where anything is on this new interface and what I have been able to find so far, is over complicated when you compare it to the old update.

Example: credit card or loan payments. It used to let you right on login if there was a balance due and when it would be due. This new interface requires I click into the loan and find where and when it’ll be due. Why can’t they have the info up front like they used to? The other issue I’ve been running into is the constant crashes in this app, the old one used to never crash- this new interface updated app has crashed 3 times in less than 5 minutes. I’m on a newer iPhone and I always close out apps not in use, so it’s not a memory issue.

If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it! GWCU, please go back to the old interface or work on improving this new interface. As it currently sits, this is unusable.
