I used to get kicked out quite often needing to pair this app to my unit manually using the remote which is inconvenient since I have tenants. (I make sure they don’t leave the AC on while they’re gone all day). Now this app works well again. As for the Mini split AC/heater it’s been working well for a few years now and just added another unit at my house. I can control two units both diff places remotely in this one app!

This is a review only for the app. The Gree mini split system has been working fine for over two years.There are really two types of problems with this app. One is the user interface is just terrible. The user interface has you doing all kinds of things to do very very simple things. For example, if you want to adjust the louvers to spread the arrow across the room that requires looking into additional menus at the bottom and playing around with four buttons on the bottom, which are not intuitive. The biggest headache is that if you use the standard IR remote to set temperature or fan, speed or pretty much anything when you start to use the app, it resets all of this vice versa when you use the iPhone to set this settings on this app, when you then go to the wall mounted remote, it resets all the settings again very frustrating. Gree needs to update this app so it comes into the 21st-century, the design and also the controls need to be adjusted so they can be easier to use and create better functionality for what is typically a good mini split system

The first error said, occasionally, that the mini in my den had disconnected. I would wait, and it would reappear a sort time later. Then, it finally said it was disconnected, and stayed that way. I went to reestablish the connection using the power and mode buttons on my remote. It reset, but when I went to use it, it disappeared again. After that, no matter how many times I tried, it wouldn't reconnect. I finally decided to delete the den, and add it again. It wouldn't work AND it effected the WiFi signal to my bedroom Mini. It now said it was a virtual set up! It wouldn’t work at all. I tried, again, to reestablish this mini, to no avail. I finally decided that the app had messed up so I deleted the app and reinstalled it. It recognizes that there is a mini in my bedroom, but it says disconnected, and it won't reconnect. It doesn't recognize the den mini at all. The beeps sound saying that the minis reconnected, but neither one did whenever I tried. So, now I can't use my WiFi at all! And, because I’m disabled, I NEED the WiFi! I'm not happy! Come on, Gree. You're supposed to be the best! But your WiFi is TERRIBLE!

There was an update and I can no longer access my unit on the app without binding the email. The issue is I use apple login. Since I can’t bind it, I have no access at all. Previous:The review is for the app. The appliance itself works great! The app on the other hand, I agree- why offer the use of the app if they are not going to keep up with the performance of it? The idea is great, I can program it for certain times, I can turn it on and off, and program it away from home. The problem is- it constantly logs me off and somehow the account is not “binded” as it states. At times, the appliances do disappear in the app but I just refresh a few times untilthey show up. Sometimes I’m stuck having to use the remote which does throw off the connection to the app and the programming you had for it. The app certainly needs work and much better updates. I will say- it works well with Alexa. Sometimes the connection also gets lost but not for long. Overall, the app doesn’t function well but the appliance thus far I am happy with.
