Horrible Customer Service - Hidden Fee’s

So my order showed up late with items missing, the guy who delivered it acted like I was crazy and offered to call? The order is on the app, who is he going to call? So then I waited in the chat queue with my missing items and unfulfilled order, I work tech so I know stuff just happens some times. No biggie, I’ll just get my money back in a few days or a credit or something?
But lucky for me the chat queue went to 0, with no notification, which was more annoying. Then I called and spoke to a woman not much hassle but then she questioned my items missing. I then decided to bring up the random 1.80$ the subtotal + tip was off compared to the amount I paid. She then lied to me and said it was a sales tax which I don’t have in my state so I quickly corrected her, I felt bad but then she said it was the service fee, which isint listed on the order? But apparently they take 12% of the order amount as a fee which is insane and probably in the fine print. The. She refunds me 2$ and tells me 5 business days (conservative Guess I am sure but wow I am inclined to think all the reviews on here are fake).

Rated it 1 of 5 - This company obviously treats its employee’s like garbage too, and steals tip money from service industry people. Not using it ever again, and will advise others to boycott this service.

The app is better than the service

I have used gh at least 20 times. The app is great, it always works. though it seems inconsistent from restaurant to restaurant in its menu application and usage -sometimes confusing what comes with an item. The service from grub hub employees hasn’t been bad, they tell me when there’s a problem and make it right, so I think the company seems to care (more than I can say for other food delivery services I’ve used which I won’t name here, but it starts with a U!) So I’m loyal to gh in my restaurant delivery patronage anymore. Now you just have to expect though, the restaurants sometimes have issues and cancel your order & your experience depends in large part upon the relationship between that restaurant and gh. Another factor- if you get a driver who treats your food and your time with respect, which isn’t usually a problem. The drivers usually call from the driveway, I don’t know why, most pizza places ring the bell. Sometimes the drivers forget food or spill it. hey this is going to happen if you order from gh 20 or more times. You take your chances, because you don’t want to cook so much, and you don’t want to go out into the public either. Thanks for being there most of the time gh when I’m not cookin’. And shout out to mr. gyro because he is consistently good & fast, never cancels.☮️

Started great then went downhill

While the app development is lovely and well done, it is unfortunate that the app was written for a company that has decided to do shady business. Frequently my orders are reported as delivered before they actually arrive. Today, however, was absolutely enough. I scheduled a delivery for noon. About 10 minutes after noon I check the app to see where things are and my order is marked delivered. So, I waited a few minutes to see if it showed up. Finally called the restaurant and they informed me no driver had shown up to pick it up yet. So I try to sort out contacting Grubhub to sort it out, which has become incredibly difficult to do. It’s almost like you’re hoping people will just give up instead of getting assistance. While trying to figure out how to contact them they call me and tell me they won’t be able to schedule a driver for another 30-40 minutes. My food is already prepared and has now been waiting and getting cold for 30 minutes and they want to pick it up 30-40 minutes from this time. Leaving my food to sit for over an hour before even starting towards me with it. I’m tired of dealing with it. I’m taking my business to Uber Eats. I’ll be recommending others use Uber Eats. If my friends ask about driving for you I will recommend against it. It’s a shame because I used to super recommend this app but this has become exhausting. I just want to order food and have it show up. And the drivers aren’t to blame for any of these issues.
