Device Not Connected on iPad

I use an iPad in my car. (Apple CarPlay just isn't worth bothering with yet.) I bought a Pioneer radio thinking I'd be able to mount the radio (Pioneer DEH-8800BHS) and control it thru the app without having to move the iPad to access certain basic features. The app runs on the iPad but it says "Device not connected" and therefore can not control things like volume, tuner, equalizer- only iPod functions which is useless. (I realize this app is designed only for iPhone but I found no other way to contact the developer with suggestions)

Decent, needs iPad version (updated)

The app is decent overall once you find the instructions on how to operate it on iPhone. I would actually like to see an iPad version come out. I'm trying to run the iPhone version on my iPad and the volume doesn't work, I can't search through the music on my iPad and I can't switch sources. I'm in the middle of changing my dash over to have an iPad as my UI. I sure would love to have access to all sources and system settings through my iPad instead of holding the remote. And since I plan on hiding the radio I don't know how well the remote will work for me(August 18th, 2017)Due to the recent update to the ARC app, I decided to give this app another try on my iPad. Every function works the way it should now. The only downside is that it still doesn't fill the entire screen, but with access to change source, volume and everything else it supposed to do, I'm a little bit happier.

Add missing features

Overall is great but is missing some options that would make is perfect. A decent size Clock showing the current time would be great. I use a iPad mini for my radio screen built into my dash. (Checkout The IPad Guy on Facebook for pictures) next seek up/down on radio/XM station, and ability to set them on presets. The other previous mentioned is volume level. The volume level and clock should be optional to be displayed or not. The adjustable color on the display would be great. Lastly the ability to pick up/hang up calls, and a dial pad controls when a phone is paired to the head unit. Overall great app but needs some work, functions great otherwise.

Serious problem with connecting to radio

I was able to connect the app to my 8800bhs radio for a short time to control the equalizer and crossover, which was great, but the app will no longer connect with the deck. The app will play downloaded music through usb like an old ipod, but fails to recognize the deck and enable processor control. This was the whole point of the app for me, so now it’s useless. I think an ios update caused a failure to recognize connection bug and an update is needed (or God help us a firmware update for the deck). Other reviews make clear that this is a known problem with the app and Pioneer is ignoring it. Get it together, Pioneer - phone control is the whole future of car audio.
