Great game although one huge flaw

I have really enjoyed this game, it runs well, the units are diverse, and it is extremely fun. Although there are some problems with it. My biggest problem with the game is that there are basically only 2 ways to win and that’s artillery and bomber spam. Literally if you try to use other units they will normally be shredded by someone who has 40 or more bombers and artillery and the only way to counter this is with your own horde of bombers or artillery. This make the gameplay pretty limited at times unlike early game where you pretty much use what you want and won’t be horrendously punished for it. I think you could fix this problem by making it so that artillery can damage itself at close range or does area damage to your own units to balance it a little bit, or just limit how much damage area damage does. Bombers can be easily countered by having some aa support that has the area damage ability although sometimes this functions weird and won’t actually work. What’s bad about this ability though is that it only lasts 5 minutes and there are only 2 units that have permanent area damage. These are the cruiser and the bofors but most of the time they aren’t worth investing as the bofors dies really fast and the cruiser isn’t an ideal solution. Besides this flaw though the game is pretty great.

Pretty good but one flaw

This is no mistaking it a real good game. Sure there is the whole gem spending and stuff and can get annoying but that is not enough to throw you off the game if you really like it. What is enough to make me leave the game is the community itself. It is just like Five Nights at Freddy’s. Not a bad game at all, just a cringe community. The game moderators don’t do anything too, hey favor the big guys here that act like jerks. This game is just filled with people who think this is what real war is like and that they would make the best five star generals. So pretty much, General Wannabe reporting for duty. So if you want to take my word for this game. I’d say give it a shot, but don’t spend too much and be ready to leave whenever possible. I never spent nothing in this game and was about ready to until I realized how bad the community was that I just left. Had me reeled in for almost 3 months though. Maybe more.

Major Flaws

I really want to give this game 5 stars after playing for 2 years... but there are some major flaws. First off the tutorial completely misrepresents the game. Combine this with the fact there is zero separation between players of different ranks and the toxic community, this game is HOSTILE to new players. The game is also so terribly pay to win that whoever wins a field comes down to whoever is willing to pay more wether it be for instant armies, shields, or just gemming cities and turrets back until the attacker either gives up or dies. It is also completely clear that whatever the developers say about this they have ZERO intentions of changing it because they are DROWNING in the money that players will dish out for officers, gems, and bundles that gives players an edge. Alternative accounts or “alts” as they are called run rampant because turrets are useless when you have one account with endless scout planes keeping them busy while a main account spams bombers, m40s, or battleships depending on the map. I really love this game but it’s obvious the developers became satisfied with the money they’re making and only occasionally give players a new troop or mode which is almost always broken for a large group of players and has zero impact on gameplay because people still spam bombers and artillery even if the map or rules is slightly different. Address these problems and the game will become significantly more fun.

Great game, great concept, but…

Honestly I love the game, I have off and on played for a few years. The mechanics are great for a mobile game and it feels very nicely in depth, there’s a solid diversity of units to it as well. I enjoy that the game actually has lots of strategy to it, and working and coordinating with others actually has an impact. Here’s the problem that’s killed my drive for the game anymore. Pay too win, I’ve seen people join a map and gem they’re way to a army of 30, 40, 50 something bombers and simply decimate the battlefield before most can even access bombers. It’s even worse when you’ve worked hard over a day or two to progress and build yourself, your zones, and a solid army which will mean nothing when someone gems they’re way to beat everything you own. I like to think what keeps people engaged is the ability to progress and build themselves up to fight the others around you, yet this aspect ruins that. I wish I could say this is a one time occurrence but it’s most games that bomber spam is gemmed and used to decimate in little time at all. All in all, I loved this game as it really offers great strategic opportunity, great combat, great mechanics and really good gameplay, bit simply put excessive pay to win kills the mood of all the others.
