Description

Reddit is the place where people come together to have the most authentic and interesting conversations on the internet—Where gaming communities, nostalgic internet forums, bloggers, meme-makers, and fandoms mingle alongside video streamers, support groups, news junkies, armchair experts, seasoned professionals, and artists and creators of all types.

With over 100,000 communities about every topic you could think of (and a few you’d probably never think of if it wasn’t for the creativity of strangers on the internet), Reddit is the place where you can dive into anything and connect with people on any topic.

A few things you’ll find on Reddit…

■ Thousands of communities
Whether you're into breaking news, sports, TV fan theories, or a never-ending stream of the internet's cutest animals, there's a community on Reddit for you.
■ Laughs, lols, and plenty of ridiculousness
Lose track of vast amounts of time as you find memes, bananas for scale, bread stapled to trees, cat videos, and more of the absurd and oddly absorbing.
■ The best discussions
The real action is always in the comments. Reddit’s discussion threads are where community members jump in to provide commentary, humor, and insight.
■ Answers to questions you’re too afraid to ask in public
Recipes, street fashion, career help, fitness plans, and more—find ideas and inspiration for whatever you want to do.
■ Live video streams, chats, and talks
Want to know what people are doing right now? Streaming videos, live chats, and live audio conversations give you a variety of ways to connect with people in the moment.
■ Crowd-sourced points of view on just about everything
Product reviewers, music critics, sports fans, or doge enthusiasts—find people that obsess and care about whatever it is you’re interested in.
■ Anonymous profiles so you can do you
On Reddit, you (not your job, number of friends, or social status) define who you are.
■ Lots and lots of cats

Whether you love movies, kittens, science, kittens, politics, or kittens, Reddit’s official app puts all this (plus kittens) at your fingertips. With a colorful and intuitive layout, it’s easy to browse and post to “the front page of the internet” across thousands of subreddits that cater to virtually every area of interest. Search for communities that line up with your hobbies; filter posts by posting time, hotness, and more; and get a breakdown of your own Redditing history to see where you reaped all that sweet, sweet karma. (Pro tip: You can’t go wrong with pictures of—you guessed it—kittens.)

Retaliatory moderators ban you for no reason

I would give it 0 stars but the App Store hides my 1 star review. I was having a reasonable discussion with a community moderator about why my post was removed. They got annoyed and had me PERMANENTLY BANNED for harassment. I made a new account months later and was minding my business, when this SAME person discovered it was me and had my new account ALSO BANNED for no reason. As a member of this app you have no rights, the moderators and admins can do whatever they want to you. You have no way to stick up for yourself or defend yourself in any way. Only post and say exactly what the mods want, if you go against them at all they ban you without question from the entire app and you’re never allowed to have another account. I never broke a single rule but I was never allowed to respond or defend myself. Now every time I try to make a new account and just scroll the app without bothering anybody, they still hunt me down and ban me. Even tho I never broke a rule, I am permanently barred from ever being a part of this app ever again for the rest of my life. This is disgusting. I can’t describe how utterly and completely disgusted I am that I was unjustly kicked off the app, with absolutely no way to defend myself or even SPEAK TO A MODERATOR.

Reddit has been a good app until now

I love this app, I really do but when the developers made it so when you tap a photo or a video it goes to this different player that when you scroll up it goes to a random video from a subreddit that you haven’t joined. I mean yes I know why that it was changed to do that, so you can have more variety on watching similar content. For awhile I got passed that for videos by taping a photo and swiping to the left to get to the video but now in a recent update they made it so taping on photos does the same thing with videos which at least for me it really annoying. I know just me saying this won’t get anything changed so I’m hoping that other people agree with me or at least make it a setting to change it back to the way it was before you changed it to what you have now for a video player. Adding this after making this review, also why did the developers get rid of the sorting system that they had to change it to new, hot, top, or controversial it’s just bad app design to get rid of these things that people love about Reddit but changing it to this, I’m not really mad just annoyed and kinda disappointed in the developers on getting rid of the sort option and changing the video player
