Selflane POS
Point of Sale
Free · Designed for iPad. Not verified for macOS.
Hundreds of Main Street businesses use Selflane’s software to process sales both online and in-store, handle deliveries, manage staff, and organize their operations. We bring together everything required to run a local business into one comprehensive system.
more New Features
- Added manager approval when adding an Out of Stock combo on iPad and iPhone. An order that still contains an Out of Stock combo can't be submitted until the combo is removed or a manager approves.
- Added an "Auto Print Online Customer" printer setting that controls whether online orders automatically print the customer receipt. It is on by default, so existing setups work as before.
Bug Fixes
- Fixed Special Pricing, vouchers and menu hours following the iPad's time zone instead of the business's, so they now start and end at the right local time.
- Fixed modifier pricing when a choice used more than the remaining free quantity: the extra is now charged once, and later choices are priced correctly.
- Fixed event tickets sold at the POS being recorded against the wrong ticket type when two ticket types share a name.
7.8.3 3h ago
Improvements
- Payments made with Link or Amazon Pay now show as "Link" and "Amazon Pay" in the payment list and payment history.
- When Adjust Price can't charge the customer's card, the POS now tells staff the customer was sent a payment link. Orders that can no longer be adjusted show why, and Charge is disabled.
Bug Fixes
- If the connection to a PAX terminal drops during a card payment, the POS now shows an error right away and never sends the same sale twice.
- After a PAX batch has closed, a tip adjustment is now refused instead of being added to another customer's card.
- After the sales tax or service charge is changed in the dashboard, the check printed for a new to-go order now shows the same tax and total the customer is charged.
7.8.2 2d ago
New Features
- Added a Stock list that shows the current amount of each tracked dish, opened from More or the menu screen. The dish detail screen shows the amount too.
- Staff can now record a delivery or count the shelf right at the counter. If the amount was changed on another device first, the POS reloads it and asks again instead of overwriting it.
7.8.1 Oct 21
New Features
- Book a third-party courier for your delivery orders. The courier fee comes from your prepaid account, not the customer's bill, and the courier's status shows on the order. An order needs at least one dish or gift card before it can go to a courier.
- Change an online pickup order to delivery, with the price shown before a manager approves.
- New "Large receipt text" setting prints receipt items and totals in larger text.
- Unpaid meal breaks can now be turned off.
Improvements
- Card payments that are approved but can't be saved are kept and sent again automatically.
- PAX increased authorizations are remembered after a restart.
- Prepaid kiosk and online orders no longer show up as needing a tip adjustment, and a $0 tip adjustment now shows a confirmation.
- A Stripe reader that loses Bluetooth now shows as disconnected and asks you to reconnect.
- Improved reliability across menus, business settings, printers, split orders, billing, refunds and delivery tracking.
Bug Fixes
- Event ticket quantities are locked while a card is charging, and a single cash or card entry must cover the full total, so the saved order always matches the charge.
- If an order is canceled on another device, its open payment screen now closes and the order can't be charged from it.
- Pay & Send no longer cancels an order that was already paid.
- Event checkout can retry creating tickets without charging again.
- Fixed address timezone, print jobs stuck "in progress", and duplicate refreshes on other devices.
7.8.0 Oct 21

• Improved the reliability of order syncing and kitchen print tasks.

7.6.4 Sep 24

Bug Fixes
• Fixed Add Item still being offered on checks the server had already refused, so the attempt only failed after the items were entered.

• Fixed the order list staying on the previous business day after the business day rolled over.
• Fixed scanning another location's receipt showing a raw connection error instead of explaining why it was refused.
7.6.3 Sep 23
PAX Terminal Tip & Gift Card Fixes
Added: Customers can now enter their tip on the PAX card terminal instead of on the iPad. Turn this on per device in the payment settings.
Fixed: A SelfLane gift card payment could not include a gratuity, causing the tip amount to be omitted from the tender.
7.6.2 Sep 18
Card Reader Improvements
Added: When a card reader disconnects, the app now shows the exact recovery step needed — whether that's re-pairing, reconnecting over the network, or simply tapping Connect — so staff can get back to taking payments faster.
Fixed: A disconnected reader could appear as busy or still available, and the Cancel button could become unreachable during a charge. Both issues are resolved.
Fixed: Payment cancellations were sometimes recorded as failures, and state from a previous payment could carry into the next charge attempt.
Fixed: Reader connection and reconnection could leave the status display out of sync, incorrectly withhold the Connect button after a manual disconnect, or leave a stale reader reference after auto-reconnect gave up.
7.6.1 Sep 15
Gift-card discounts, now for orders already in the system
• Apply, edit, or clear a percentage discount on a gift-card sale after the order has been submitted — no need to cancel and start over. Every change is logged with its reason and the manager who approved it.
• A discount set before submitting now stays tied to its percentage, so removing a gift card re-calculates the discount against the cards that remain.
• Set or adjust a gift-card discount right from the add-item screen while adding to an existing order.
Also new
• Copy printer settings from another device — setting up a replacement or an extra register no longer means re-entering every printer by hand.
• Try the customer-facing display with a full three-minute live demo on real menu and payment screens before subscribing.
Improvements
• Vouchers worth more than the dishes they cover now warn you before they are applied, instead of quietly dropping the excess.

New Features
• Void kiosk payments from the POS. If a customer decides to use a different payment method at the counter, you can now void their kiosk payment and take a new payment—without cancelling the order or voiding its kitchen ticket.
• Introducing the Selflane Displays app. Kitchen Display and Prep Display now connect to our new standalone Displays app, where all future display features will be released. You can still choose to continue using the current display experience.

• The Rush option is now shown only for businesses using Kitchen Display, where it can take effect. Existing Rush orders remain unchanged.
Bug Fixes

• Fixed blank tip lines appearing on kiosk and online order receipts after the customer had already responded to the tip prompt.
• Fixed Caller ID occasionally stopping after the device was locked or the app was sent to the background.
7.5.9 Sep 1

7.5.8 Aug 26
- Rush Orders
Mark an order as Rush and the whole team sees it. Set it with the bolt button while taking the order, or Rush and Un-Rush an existing order from its detail screen. Rush orders show a red bolt badge in the order list and move to the front of the Kitchen Display with a highlighted banner.
- Bar Tab Protection
Bar tabs now warn you when the running total has grown past the amount authorized on the card. On PAX terminals, you can raise the authorized amount right from the tab, so a growing tab stays covered.

• Improved the Rush banner's contrast on the Kitchen Display so it stands out on a busy board.
7.5.7 Aug 20
- Unpaid Meal Breaks
Staff can now start and end an unpaid meal break right from the clock screen, with a live timer showing how long the break has run. Break time appears on the timecard, on the clock-out summary, and on the printed punchcard.
- Unconfirmed Kitchen Tickets
When a kitchen ticket is sent but the printer never confirms it came out, that ticket no longer disappears silently. It now waits in the Printer Job Queue so staff can glance at the printer and either re-send it or mark it fine. You can turn this list on or off under App Setup.
- Improvements
Close Shift now confirms each order with the server and lists any orders it could not close, along with the reason, so nothing is left open without you knowing.
