Fun game but....
I love Haiku games and have played many of them. I like this one but I’m frustrated that if I stop playing the game for a while and come back to it, it starts over at the beginning of the chapter. I may have found all the objects and worked out many puzzles to open doorways or whatever, set it aside for an hour or 2 and then be made to go through finding all the objects and solving the puzzles again when I start playing again. Some of these puzzles are hard and I really don’t want to do them over and over just because I don’t spend hours at a time playing this game. I’ve never had this issue in other Haiku games.
Doesn’t save your process.
All the games I have played by this developer is fun. Some puzzles are challenging while others are exciting to play. I love all their games but this one drove me insane hence why I am giving it a 2 star rating. I would play the game, solve a really hard puzzle that I wanted to give up on and I finally get through it then move on. Move on to the next challenge where I would put my phone down and come back later and have to do the whole chapter over again. Errrrrrrr! So extremely frustrating. None of the other games do this. If you stopped in the middle of the chapter you can still pick up where you left off. Not this game for some reason. So again I would have to redo the challenging puzzle again, re-find everything again. I was on the last chapter of this game when it had me redo everything. I just deleted the game. I was not going to move those blocks around to get the stopper out again. Frustrating
Love Haiku AE games, but this one was not my favorite.
I have played several Haiku AE games and I love them. I love the challenge and uniqueness of the puzzles, and the stories are entertaining. I did enjoy playing Hidden Ruins, but it was not my favorite. Some of the puzzles were not clear. (The fish puzzle box was infuriating. And the yellow circuit puzzle fits more than one way, so I thought the game was glitched when I had completed it and nothing happened.) This particular game doesn’t save your progress within the chapter, so I had to repeat a few chapters. However I have noticed this is not an issue on their other games. What upset me most was spending stars to reveal hints that I had already passed - I’m sure this is an added issue of it not saving your progress. Overall, I enjoyed it but it could be better.
