Good Idea. Disastrous Execution.
This should be a great convenience, but the app works so rarely that I’d rather just have a normal door buzzer. The app freezes the vast majority of the time—and don’t get me started about what happens if you and a roommate happen to both answer the call. By the time I hang up, open the app (which is slow to open even when it’s not freezing), and connect to the intercom, the person at the other end is irritated or has given up and left. I also can’t hear anything that the visitor is saying due to the inexplicable amount of background noise picked up by the microphone (our entryway is NOT noisy). So, if the visitor isn’t standing directly in front of the camera (and they usually aren’t because the camera is to the side of the door that they are standing in front of), I have no idea who is buzzing. Finally, the interface is unintuitive for new users. Visitors hit “residents,” thinking it will bring up a list of residents. If the button just said “FOR residents,” and “FOR visitors” I would stop getting frustrated calls from people, claiming that they can’t buzz me.
These problems happen whether I am on my work WiFi, my home WiFi, or my phone’s LTE. They are not contingent on internet connectivity.

We have been unable to find your name in our system, but we would love to help repair the issues to your building. A lot of our products use requires a stable internet connection on both the building intercom and the smartphone. Some of the issues you stated, sound like they may stem from a bad connection.

I love this system because it makes entering my apartment building so easy and convenient. My favorite feature is the ability to send a digital key to visitors via email or text. You can set the digital key to expire anywhere between a few hours or up to 30 days. I like having being able to see and speak to my visiting guests prior to opening the door (which can also be done through the app!)
Game changing technology
It’s about time for something like this. I am a licensed NY real estate agent, and have never seen anything like this before. Very convenient. Bluetooth and remote entry. This is a no brainer. I am hoping that MVI’s intercoms becomes the standard day in all apartment buildings in the city. Great job!
