The T-Mobile® Direct Connect® app brings push-to-talk (PTT) communications to Apple smartphones and iPads. The T-Mobile Direct Connect app enables push-to-talk communications with Direct Connect devices including best-in-class features such as 1-to-1 Direct Connect calling and Group Connect calling all with the convenience of touchscreen controls. T-Mobile Direct Connect services should be added onto your T-Mobile lines of service before attempting to activate the application. Please make sure to turn on and allow location/GPS, access to contacts, and push notifications. Features: T-Mobile® Direct Connect® on 5G, 4G LTE and Wi-Fi 1-to-1 Direct Connect Calls Quick Group Calls up to 10 members Group Connect Calls up to 30 members created in app Talkgroup Calls up to 250 members created from CAT Tool Broadcast Calls up to 500 members Push-To-X Secure messaging – send pictures/videos, texts, files, audio messages and location Direct Connect now has additional tiers of PTT services: Our existing standard tier of features (Direct Connect, Group calling, broadcast calling, secure messaging) Business Critical (Emergency Calling, Area Based Dynamic Talkgroups & Large Talkgroups up to 3,000 members) Mission Critical PTT (Talkgroup & User profiles, Talkgroup affiliation, remote user check, user enable/disable, operational status messaging, ambient & discreet listening, MCX Talkgroups) Note: Continued use of GPS running in the background can dramatically decrease battery life.

This new release of TDC is using the iOS PTT framework to improve your PTT experience. Here’s what’s new: • You’ll see a new, Apple-designed screen for PTT calls, similar to what you see in regular phone or VoIP calls. • PTT will now work more smoothly when your app is in the background or your phone is locked. • This new experience is only available on iPhones running iOS 17.2 or newer. • Older iPhones or those running older iOS versions will still work, but without the new background and lock screen features. • You might also notice small changes in how incoming video calls and 1-to-1 calls ring and are answered. These updates are designed to make your communication faster and easier.
