Create sight-reading exercises for virtually any single-line instrument, perform with the built-in mic or MIDI
Read better. Play with confidence.
See Music Pro creates personalized sight-reading exercises for your instrument, listens as you perform, and shows you exactly what went right and what needs more work.
Practice with acoustic instruments, voice, MIDI, or rhythm-only input. Choose recommended settings and start immediately, or shape every detail of your practice.
PRACTICE WITH YOUR INSTRUMENT
Choose from 29 built-in instrument and clef profiles, or create your own instrument by selecting its name, clef, transposition, and written range.
See Music Pro adapts exercises, note ranges, and Audio Calibration to the instrument you use.
PRACTICE AT YOUR LEVEL
Practice Setup lets you control the musical elements that matter most:
* Exercise length
* Written range
* Melodic shape
* Key
* Rhythm and syncopation
* Tempo
* Meter
* Rests
* Swing
* Specialized note challenges
Use recommended settings when you want a quick starting point, then adjust your setup as your reading improves.
FOUR WAYS TO PRACTICE
Sight-Reading
Generate new single-line exercises for your instrument, clef, range, and level. Play them in tempo and receive detailed feedback.
Note by Note
Practice written-note recognition without the pressure of continuous rhythm. See Music Pro waits for each note before moving forward.
Rhythm Practice
Focus entirely on timing. Tap the screen, press a key, or use MIDI without having to perform the written pitches.
Practice Dictation
Listen to a generated musical example, then choose which of three written scores matches what you heard.
DETAILED PERFORMANCE FEEDBACK
After a judged exercise, See Music Pro marks the results directly on the score and creates a complete Performance Report.
Depending on the exercise and instrument, feedback can include:
* Pitch
* Intonation
* Rhythm
* Note duration
* Rests
* Overall performance
See which notes were correct, early, late, missed, sharp, flat, too short, too long, or played through a rest.
CHOOSE HOW STRICT YOUR JUDGE SHOULD BE
Different players need different kinds of feedback. Use one of the built-in Judge presets or create Your Own Judge to control how strictly See Music Pro evaluates timing, intonation, and overall performance.
AUDIO CALIBRATION FOR ACOUSTIC INSTRUMENTS
Every instrument has a different attack, harmonic profile, sustain, and register behavior.
See Music Pro includes guided Audio Calibration that learns how your instrument sounds through the device's built-in microphone, helping improve recognition and performance feedback.
External microphones and audio interfaces are not currently supported for judged acoustic performances.
PLAY WITH MICROPHONE, MIDI, OR TAPPING
Use the device's built-in microphone with an acoustic instrument or voice.
Connect a MIDI keyboard for highly accurate pitch and timing input.
For Rhythm Practice, simply tap the screen or press a key.
TRACK YOUR PROGRESS
See your recent and best performances, daily, weekly, and monthly progress, Awards, achievements, practice goals, streaks, and separate progress for each instrument.
MAKE PRACTICE YOUR OWN
Customize See Music Pro with:
* Multiple Judge presets
* Your Own Judge settings
* Color themes
* Swing styles
* Cheers
* Auto-Next
* Master, melody, and metronome volume controls
TRY IT WITH FREE EXERCISES
The complete practice system is available while free exercises remain. Full Access removes the limit on generating new Sight-Reading exercises and Dictation sets.
DESIGNED FOR SINGLE-LINE SIGHT-READING
See Music Pro is designed for single-staff melodic sight-reading.
Piano players can practice treble-clef and bass-clef material separately. Grand-staff and polyphonic piano performance are not currently supported.

Caution iPhone users. Update: there appears to be no way to reply to the developer response to this review. So I will have to put my response here. I am using an iPhone 7 Plus. Initially the app functioned as I described below, crashing after a few seconds of recording. Now the app doesn’t appear to record it all and even in play mode will not change the tempo. The set tempo is very fast, too fast to be useful for teaching children. And there is no possibility of changing the tempo. You change the tempo in the tempo section and no change occurs. My iPad is now functional again. I would like to try and see if this app would work on the iPad. But even though the iPad is on the same account I am not allowed to download the app again without paying for it again. I can’t justify paying again for an app that initially worked and then stopped working on another device. It seems only fair that I should be given a refund for the copy that doesn’t work at the very least. I would then be willing to try purchasing another version for the iPad because I would really like to see this app work. If there is some way I can contact the developer and work these things out it might be helpful.This would be a great app if it worked. It downloads and starts, gets the kids just far enough that they actually want to do it and then glitches and causes a lot of strife and frustration. The main glitches so far are the conductor icon appears and disappears and recording stops four notes in. It’s not the conductor icon is off, it just isn’t there and neither is the metronome icon next to it. There is there no way to get it back beyond resetting the entire app with all data gone. This happens every 20 minutes or so so there is no way to store data in the app. And resetting takes time and causes students to lose interest. The app also glitches during recording. At random times it will lock up so that it will only record the first four notes. Then it stops recording and shows all other notes as missed. Again the only way to remedy this is to reset the app.

UPDATE 3/1/2018 2:00PMWe solved your problem with the app reading only 4 notes and stopping. There is an update with the fix waiting for review right now and it should be available very soon.We still can't find the reason why you are being requested to pay again for the iPad version and we are working on it. Please contact us to the email address on our website mDecks.com (you'll find an updated email address at the bottom of the page) and we promise we will make it right. Also, we found a bug on the microphone access in the latest version 2.2.1 and we have send a new version with the fix to the App Store which will be available soon. As to other issues you described, it seems to us that they could be easily resolved by watching the tutorial included in the app (in the preferences panel, which you can access with the button at the top-right). Also, please make sure you have no other apps running while using See Music since they could be affecting its performance. Thanks for your feedback.Hi, thanks for the feedback, it's very useful and detailed. Could you please let me know which device you are running the app with? We haven't been able to reproduce your problem yet, I am wondering if it could be your device model, I've tried it on almost all the devices without any of the problems you mention, thanks again.
Very good but...

Hello, I’m Santiago Di Cristófano (Santi Dicri), I’m a cruise ship orchestra guitar player, and I have been using this app to practice sight reading, but the metronome suddenly stopped working. I can see the metronome going but it doesn’t sound anymore, even if I change the sounds of the metronome, only the first beat of the first bar is making the sound and not the others.I have been practicing with the app sight reading machine before, and I think you can get some ideas of improvements from that app. I think see music has some better stuff like the recording option, and the option of choosing in between triadic or steps music, but the other app has some features that this one doesn’t have as well. In the other app you can choose exactly the type of notes you want to read, and the key signature you want to read. In the other app you can add dynamics to the music. In the other app you don’t have the visible tempo mark always there and you have an option to play only with the metronome and not with the music going on.Unfortunately they are not making updates in the other app, so I decided to buy this one and suggest you some changes to make it better.And this ones are my ideas...Option to sight read more than 8 barsA + and a - to change the tempo accurately An option to read more than one note at the timeAn option to record myself and be able to listen to it afterA community of people using the app made from the app

I just started out with this and my first discovery is that there are things I need but I can’t control, like limiting key signatures to a certain range.I’m primarily interested in learning to sight read Irish music for a beginners session. That means I need only one, two or three sharps in my key signature. It also means that triplets are played as two 16ths and an 8th and not as uniform duration notes.I really don’t need and won’t use any music that doesn’t have one, two or three sharps. (I don’t say keys since Irish music is often modal)The worst is; I’m not actually on a viola but playing a five string violin. I read my music on treble and bass clef but it’s presented here on alto clef. I can live with that but my own scores are written with treble and bass with a one ledger line gap so C is in the space between treble and bass. I’d love to be able to have my music span both clefs with the ability to space the clefs as needed.Yes, the last is a bit extreme but perfect for five strings.Yeah, half a review. Limiting key signature choices is primary here. Between whistles, flutes that are really fifes, fiddles, button accordions and concertinas the common ground is one to three sharps and only soloists go beyond that.
Does amazing things, but glitchy

I’ve not seen another app that fills this need—generates endless exercises but also grades performance on a number of factors (pitch/rhythm)! However, it is rough around the edges and the app’s performance has degraded over the past month—perhaps due to OS changes?: 1) The awards page does not save the averages for the day anymore (never did save for the week) 2) The metronome sound now only plays the first beat and some times start of 5th measure. 3) Sometimes metronome stops altogether and/ or the app crashes. I would so love for this to work as intended. I have tried re-installing the app and contacting developer via email, but awaiting response. I have an iPhone 8 with no other programs running.Other comments: Sometimes the Correct % seems more reliable than others. (Is it most reliable at the default tempo? Just tell me if that is a known issue, so I’m not trying to figure out whether I am actually getting worse at slower tempos?) The progression is not transparent (does it give harder/easier exercises based on your performance?—if yes, what actions start you back at the beginning? Reopening? Changing a design parameter? Tempo? Not discussed in video tutorial.) The navigation is needlessly clumsy on iPhone. (Move the “conductor” away from mic/start icon or put it under Settings for those that want it. I keep accidentally turning it on and it’s annoying. Eyes need to be looking ahead of current note anyway. Always have icon for something in same place — e.g. designer at bottom left, create excecise bottom right etc.)As other reviewers say, I really would like to be able to pick key(s), similar to setting a user-defined range. See Tenuto for picking keys.The See Music score/graphic means what? Explain.
