Problematic on iPhone X
I’m enjoying this game, and unlike another reviewer I’m not seeing any ads I don’t consent to beforehand. My problem with it is that the developer doesn’t seem to know how to make the app behave on an iPhone without a home button (like my iPhone X). Tapping near the bottom of the screen or swiping into that area during the game takes me into the app switcher, pausing the game and interrupting gameplay. And this happens often, to the point that I felt compelled to come write this review.
Other games seem to be able to put phone-level functionality in the background while the games are in the foreground, preventing this kind of distracting interruption until you swipe very deliberately a couple of times, but this developer doesn’t seem to have figured that out yet. It’s too bad because otherwise this game has a lot to recommend it. I’ll keep playing for now - unless and until I find the interruptions too annoying - but I hope the developer fixes this issue before I give up on the game altogether.
Oh yeah, forgot to mention: I actually receive the promised rewards for watching ads about one time in ten, so I’ve stopped watching ads for rewards.
This game could be soooo much better
Let me firstly say, I RARELY write reviews. Secondly, this game is a TON of fun! Thirdly, you lose the joy of how fun the game is when you get to a certain point and cannot move any further in the game unless you purchase a better arsenal. It doesn’t give you in game boosters to help you AT ALL! So I’ve played easy, hard, and hell and got to a point in each lever where I cannot make it any further because my ship isn’t as powerful as the aliens and bosses in the game. Makes it impassible to pass a level unless you “purchase” a better ship. Complete BS as I watch a TON of ads to try and better my ship and once the add has completed, it doesn’t even give me a reward AT ALL! Or I watch an add to continue with one life in the game and the game competent atop so after I have already watched the stupid add! Complete and utter BS and will be deleting this game as soon as I finish this review. At least give in game boosters to try and help you navigate tough levels! So disappointing to say the least guys! #FThat
I’ve played this game many many times, and watched more ads than I can count. On many occasions I noticed that the advertisement videos would not work after playing the game several times on any particular day. It would just say n/a. At the same, I also noticed at the end of each level I completed I would never get offered an ad video to collect more rewards. I never clicked on the n/a icon until today, so I did just to see what would happen, and after clicking the n/a where the video icon is supposed to be, and then clicking on watch, it notifies me that there will be no more rewards until tomorrow. May I just say... how stupid that is!!! So let me just ask, what is the point in defeating a level (or playing at all), if I don’t get offered an extra reward for completing it, so I can upgrade my arsenal, and why in the h** is an app that is based solely on ads, because it sure isn’t solely based on my entertainment, only allow me to watch a certain number of ads before it cuts me off??? From a business standpoint this is sooo stupid!!! Hello!!! If I don’t play or I do play, and I don’t watch ads which is how you make a profit, then what’s the point?? Someone didn’t think that one through!!
