I really love this app. The only thing I would do differently is give the option to review certain kanji sooner than the scheduled Kanji Garden timeline. There are times where I’m passing reviews but I don’t feel particularly confident. If I was asked to actively recall the readings of these kanji, there are times where I wouldn’t be able to do it but because I’m given the choice between three options, I can usually figure out which one feels right. If there was a system where you needed to type out the reading given a certain word, I feel like I’d have a much stronger association. Overall, this app is great. It has streaks, which are a motivating factor for me. It has scheduled reviews based on when human memory tends to start forgetting things. Overall, the app is virtually perfect for my needs. There are still places where it could exceed expectations though. I’d still highly recommend this app to any new Japanese learner. It’s great. Edit: I realized that there is indeed a setting that allows you to type the readings instead of choosing from three options! I have been loving this app for months and plan on continuing to use it! As soon as I have some disposable income, I’m going to subscribe with the lifetime upgrade. Keep up the good work devs!

I have super ADHD. In fact it will probably take me a few hours to write this short review, so it’s difficult for me to find an app that I can stick with, and especially difficult for me to make myself learn through my own means of repetition. This app already has the plan laid out. You’re introduced to new characters, while characters you’ve previously learned are brought back to your attention at set times, and the app is not overcrowded with a bunch of useless words and sentences that nobody would ever actually say.It shows you animations of how the characters are written, gives you the different readings, example words, and also has audio for the pronunciation. I’m delightfully surprised to find such a well done app, after I’ve spent so many years struggling to find a way that works for me and my ADHD. Thank you, developers!

This app is great. It took me a few days to fully understand how the whole thing (as in the app itself) worked, but once I did it was smooth sailing. There’s no ads, it’s a refreshingly sleek and simple interface, and there’s plenty of information for further learning into the topic. The only things I wish were different would be a more detailed tutorial, and if I could listen to audio clips of more characters/sentences/phrases, just to better understand them and how to pronounce them. Otherwise, 100% solid app, I really appreciate it, and I will probably be purchasing the pro version, just because I don’t want this kind of app to die. It is still completely functional without the pro version, you just unlock the ability to learn more kanji in a day. Anyway, this is a great app, and my gratitude goes out to the devs.

This $5/month app is one of the most useful things I've seen for learning kanji. The way it teaches similar kanji at the same time is very useful. It's nice to learn a whole phonetic series at one time. The interface is stylish and, for the most part, clean and user-friendly.Unfortunately, there are some nasty glitches that have gone unfixed for nearly 2 years now, even though I've e-mailed about it numerous times (with no reply, ever) and continued to subscribe to the app.One glitch in particular caused every single kanji in the app to be marked as "skipped", so that it thinks I already learned all of them, and none of the kanji would be taught to me or brought up for review. There was no way to fix this except to MANUALLY reset every single kanji in the app, which took me about 30 total hours to do over a period of several weeks.Going hand-in-hand with this issue, the kanji batch skip function displays nothing at all for me and is totally non-functioning.At various times, the audio has failed completely for weeks on end. Sometimes the stroke order animations play through in EXTREMELY slow motion (it takes about 2+ minutes to watch most kanji being drawn).I continue to use this app because its other aspects are still handy as part of my overall Japanese learning approach. However, the app is seriously frustrating and inconsistent, with new, severe issues arising every couple of months. Developers, please fix these issues that continuously break the app!
