I think the other reviewer gave a very apt description of this app when calling it “well-intentioned”. You can tell that some care has gone into the making of the app. As an ace person, it is so hard to find other people in the community, and so I was overjoyed to hear of this app, an app where I can potentially talk to ace people from all over the world. But the app is super buggy and dysfunctional, which makes it frustrating to use. First of all, as a trans person, I really wish there was an option to easily choose and display our pronouns in our user profiles. Second of all, the app tends to randomly close and kicks me out to the home screen of my phone often. Most concerningly, I am unable to access this app’s help and support/ feedback pages, so I haven’t been able to reach tech support or voice any of my concerns to them. Another note is that I’ve been getting a lot of spam bots on this app messaging me and asking to be my sugar daddy. I usually hit the block and report feature, but I’m not sure if these reports are being followed up on.

It’s better than I expected out of an app just for us aces. Since notifications got added I’m not missing as many messages as I was before, and most of the filters are what I’d expect from an app like this. My one complaint is the “baking cake” screen doesn’t allow us to look at someone’s profile w/o swiping right first, which seems extremely counter-intuitive for an asexual app, since the gut reaction to someone’s looks doesn’t really exist in quite the same way for us. More users would be nice too (Though I know that’s out of your control mostly), as would ability to filter out certain romantic attractions and other preferences. I’d also like more characters to describe myself in my profile, and I think more general checkboxes (like religion, political views, etc) would be nice

I had two conversations in my inbox and tried to delete one and it deleted the other one!! Luckily that guy sent another message. The next time I tried to delete the convo I didn’t want anymore the app crashed. I don’t like that you have to swipe right to read the persons profile. It took me awhile to realize you had to do that because on most dating apps swiping right means you like them. You also can only post one picture. It’d be nice if you could add more. I may not be sexually attracted to people but I still have a type and more photos of the people would be nice. The app itself is just not as smooth as other dating apps. My suggestion toward this apps developers to download other dating apps and try to make yours more similar to theirs. I appreciate the thought behind this app though and will still continue to support as it gets better.

I would love to say that I love this app, but I’m honestly disappointed. There are very few dating sites tailored to people of the asexual spectrum, and even fewer in app form (this is the only one I know of, actually), and there is still so much room for improvement. For one, I wish there was a way to keep yourself hidden from age groups older than the one you are interested in. In the past week I have been messaged by 3 men who are at least 15 years my senior, two of which claimed to be looking for a “sugar baby.” I came to this app hoping to have fun and meet some ace friends and maybe even find a romantic partner, I didn’t come to be creeped out by older men. Hopefully, if the app is improved over time I might give it another go, but for now I’ll just have to go about it the old-fashioned way, I suppose.
