It’s an awesome concept and everything has been very user friendly, except that as a doula it doesn’t show you if the customer has reached out to a pro already. And very old posts don’t disappear once the due date is past. These features would make it even more helpful on our end. Thank you!Update April 2023: So, I have yet to get their method of payment to work, and have not found anyway, contact them to fix it. When I search my area on the website my profile doesn’t show up, only 2 other profiles. Why is this? Also, as of 3 days ago, there have been no new clients in the search function in any of the areas. Something is not working, and there isn’t a way to reach out to get it resolved. I’m starting to feel like it’s not worth it. Hope someone sees this and gets things working again.

As some other reviews mentioned, there’s SO MANY profile issues and they still haven’t fixed them. I started on Meela as a doula and have received clients from the app in the past as well. I’ve also received many emails about parents seeking doulas near me. However, upon logging in recently, I noticed my profile was no longer a professional account and it reflected me as a parent. Not only that but my name, email, and phone numbers were changed to random letters and numbers and I could not get it fixed. When I emailed support about my issues I was originally blown off, then I got annoying about it. I reached back out today (almost a month later than my original inquiry) to check back in and they tried to gaslight me into thinking I signed up for a parent account, and then told me they have “no way” to convert my account to a professional account… which is odd considering it was a professional account to begin with. We chalked it up to being a glitch but at the end of it all, my profile needed completely deleted and I had to make a new professional account. Then after they deleted my account and notified me, they made sure they said, “we deleted the parent account you created, here’s how to create a pro account” as if I had ever made my profile a parent profile to begin with. Customer service seems pretty professional but IT needs A LOT of work. It’s not fair to any pros to have to go through this headache and then be gaslit.

I really do. But having an app should make it easy to make a profile for both clients and doulas IN the app. Having to go to a webpage to create a doula profile seems silly when the app is geared for birth work. And the webpage is glitchy, so you’ll likely have to fill out the profile form more than once, and some info required is not necessary. After the webpage deleted my profile form twice on “complete” I gave up. I’ve received so many emails about it being incomplete/inactive, and any time I’ve replied with this information and concern, it’s radio silence. The concept is great, but it’s not being executed well.

I am a doula and at first I wasn’t getting much business through it but I stayed on for a while, converted to a free account, and then recently converted back to a paid account. Now, I am regularly find a few clients through Meela. I think they fixed a number of issues. I get the sense that they should charge more to offer better service rather than charge so little it makes them slow to improve features. It’s such a perfect concept and it works but it could be so much better. I’m gonnna stick with it because the ROI for me is still very good all things considered.
