Joyful way to explore Denver by bike

BikeStreets has completely changed the way I ride in Denver. The Explorer map has become my favorite way to get to know corners of the city I never would have biked to otherwise—it makes every ride feel like an adventure.What sets this app apart is how thoughtfully it’s designed around how people actually ride bikes. I would categorize myself as a confident biker who knows Denver’s bike routes pretty well. Bike Streets is able to help me fill in the gaps for places I’m unfamiliar with. For example, neighborhoods like Lowry and Congress Park are less familiar to me, and instead of scrutinizing Google Maps bike infrastructure layer like I usually do before heading to unfamiliar areas, Bike Streets has helped me navigate in real-time with a high degree of confidence. My favorite feature of the app is seeing the total number of matured trees saved and the CO2 diversion because of the community bike miles. Download the app and who knows? Maybe you’ll be chatting with a fellow bike rider at an intersection about your Bike Streets memberships - makes for a delightful interaction.

This is by far the best app for bike directions in Denver. It gives you a much better sense of the best bike routes and takes you on the quieter streets versus just taking the main roads you drive on which might happen to have a painted bike lane. it takes you on the routes that really show you the best parts of Denver by bike. it’s easy to use and there’s clearly a lot of active development which is making it better and better all the time.

I’ve had a bike for many years, but it would get quite dusty from infrequent use. My family loves to bike, but I was hesitant to join them because I dislike riding on city roads. I’ve tried this app all summer and the routing is so much better than Google or Apple Maps for cycling. I biked in all directions (even downtown!) and have felt like I am taking the safest route with the least traffic. I think I have found a new hobby!
