Great game overall
I have seen some reviews on this game saying ‘I can’t get past level 20’ ‘it was cute at first but then I couldn’t get past this level without using a power up’ or whatever. I also had trouble on a couple of levels, but what fun is an easy game??? They put power ups in the game for a reason and unlike other games they are relatively easy to obtain. The artwork is really nice and cute. I too thought it would be easy just from looking at the video of connecting the Pokémon icons, but boy was I wrong. You only have 4 seconds to put the icons you want together and you have to plan out every move if you want to beat the level. I really like how no level is exactly the same and how you can change up any level just by changing the leader Pokémon. I’m not sure why people are giving this game one star when they obviously haven’t even given it a chance. I’m not sure how far in the game it is, but at some point you are able to start parties which in my opinion was a great idea. With parties you are able to refresh the 2 Pokémon you invite which allows you to get stars for the Pokémon you want to level up or make staff. I recommend this game to anyone who likes puzzles because it is unique and just a really nice game overall. Just make sure you give it a real chance before you quit.
I was a bit skeptical at first, but I had no reason to be. The graphics are nice, and the gameplay is unique. It was nice to see a puzzle game breaking the match three formula. I’m excited to see what Pokémon are added in the future, hopefully Fennekin. Also the people writing bad reviews, either have a real problem or just got the game to complain about it. As someone who has played a lot of main series games, I still find this to be enjoyable. Also stop complaining, this game has no ads, which most games make you pay to remove. Also if they didn’t give you the option to buy stuff then what’s the point. They need to make money some how, and I prefer it having OPTIONAL purchases, as opposed to ads every minute or so. Also it’s not their fault you’re not good enough at puzzles to get past level 50. Games get harder no matter what, that’s what they do. Stop complaining and either report real problems, or give actual reviews on things like game mechanics as opposed to not being able to beat a level. If I had to make a recommendation I’d say to add Fennekin, it’s my favorite starter and I feel like it’d look really good with the game’s cutesy aesthetic.
Difficulty spike is UNBEARABLE
Ok so I was in love with this game at first. The art style, the gameplay, it was all unique. Most of the gimmicks are preeeetty fun. And then level 49 came along. LEVEL 40 FRICKEN 9. The game told me to use Minccino so I did. And then I saw the abomination of the “LEVEL.” So basically it to use his skill to clear the gimmicks; which were tucked away to the left, and all of the Pokémon were minccino as a bonus. That was fine. And then you realize it wants you get 200,000 FRICKEN POINTS. I had to use all of my items just to clear A SINGLE LEVEL. And don’t TALK to me about the method of getting Pokémon. Togepi is a Pokémon introduced pretty early on. Fast forward 40 levels and I encountered Togepi TWICE. And the worst part is I keep seeing levels that want me to use Togepi. And event Pokémon OH my god... I did some levels and NEVER ENCOUNTERED HIM! Don’t forget, these are LIMITED POKÉMON. So I think the encountering is luck based. It does give you an invite system but again the Pokémon you get are randomized. Another thing is just the amount of gimmicks there are. And if Pikachu's ear just barely doesn’t touch it, your out of luck. So in short, It had Potential but was bogged down by greed, and difficulty. Man I spent an hour just to tear up a mobile game... (Quick side note the prices are outrageous for gold acorns [not with real money, but the amount of acorns] like 900 just for 3 measly turns?! I mean come on!)
