🌏 Amazing astronomy app! 🔭

Celestia is a wonderful app that makes not just the solar system, but practically the whole galaxy (and more) accessible to your fingertips, which makes it so entertaining and educational. Planets, stars, galaxies, satellites, our solar system are just some things you can find in the app, in 3D.One feature about the app are ‘add-ons’ and they (of course) add more content to the application, though I advise not getting a lot of them, some of them are heavy and can increase the size of the program. But I seriously recommend getting this app if you love space, and more! 🌌

I was an avid user of Celestia on the computer when I was a kid. I’d come home and explore the Galaxy for what seemed like hours. When I heard they were continuing development, including making a mobile app, I was beyond excited. I downloaded it, played around with it on the phone, and enjoyed myself. It was a great throwback, but there is just something different about it, since it is adapted for a smaller touch screen device. First, it has the same old feel, but it seems less than the computer version. I know as a kid I installed massive amounts of add-ons to make it even more enjoyable, but I found the vanilla version on my phone to be bland. The quality seems to not be scaled down for the phone’s ppi ratio. All of these things I noticed are probably going to be fixed, along with hopefully some updated textures, such as Pluto’s newly revealed surface. Thank you for a life long dream of mine, keep improving, I am genuinely impressed so far. The program that once took a large computer to run only needs a phone’s computer chip now.

I am really shocked with how much Celestia has to offer! With all the updates, add-ons, atmospheres of planets, textures, surfaces, I’ll never be bored of it! I do have a few things to suggest for me and other app users. The cloud texture of Venus doesn’t show up on the screen after I install the add on. What if you made an atmosphere add on for Neptune showing the original dark blue color that everyone knows and loves! I know it’s not accurate but you get a sense of what Voyager 2 saw. Finally, I think the sun’s texture could be different idk. Overall I love this app.

I have been wishing and hoping for a mobile version of Space Engine, and it’s finally being done! I am absolutely blown away by how much you can do with Celestia! It has some bugs. Like, when I visit a galaxy and all I see is a flat white circle or square. Or, when I downloaded the Star Wars Galaxy, but it is so glitchy that you really can’t see a damned thing. This game also needs a spacecraft option, so I can fly around and manually land on planets and moons. Anyway, this is probably the BEST space app I have ever seen!
