Chapter 3 is here, the biggest update in 7 years: 4 spells, 4 play styles, 48 Magic Cards and 18 Spheres. Fair by design: no in-app purchases, ads only if you want them.
Welcome to Idle Wizard, a fairly designed clicker game about power for everyone who loves incremental and idle games. You decide how your wizard grows and how it plays. Combine and min-max attack spells, a deep Magic Card system, the Spellbook, Rune Locks, your items and the right Spheres in countless ways.
Will you build a wizard whose Beam is so strong it nearly tears reality apart while devouring huge amounts of mana? Or would you rather play a Curse specialist and lean back while your Curse grows stronger and stronger?
This game was made with a Fair Play mindset. What does that mean?
FAIR PLAY PRINCIPLES
• Deliberately designed without in-app purchases
• No paywalls, no locked content, no interrupted gameplay
• No forced ads: you will never see a pop-up ad
• No banner ads getting in the way of your game
• Only clearly marked, optional ads
• New updates again and again for 7 years
• No internet needed, fully playable offline
FEATURES
• Magic Bolt, Beam, Light Lances and Curse: every spell plays differently. Tap, hold, throw or watch, it's your call.
• 48 Magic Cards in 6 rarities each that change how your spells work. Over a trillion combinations.
• Spellbook with 40 spells to learn. Protect your favorite spells with Rune Locks so they aren't reset when you switch Spheres.
• 33 items with permanent bonuses
• 18 magnificent Spheres to summon
• Rebirth with Power Stones: every new run brings new ways to specialize and ever stronger cards as you grow stronger.
• Golden Wisps and daily rewards
• A magical fantasy world with 4 atmospheric music tracks, beautiful graphics and effects
• Developed in Germany
GAME TIPS
• Want massive damage? Pick the Beam, but be careful: it burns through a huge amount of mana.
• Want to level up fast and love tapping quickly? Pick the Magic Bolt. Many of its cards make leveling up even easier.
• Prefer to watch and put your phone down next to you? Specialize in the Curse. Raise your max mana and the strength of your Curse, which grows stronger on its own the longer it lasts. Tapping speeds it up.
• Don't want to worry about mana and prefer to score with feel and skill? Specialize in Light Lances and hit the center, the golden diamond.
• Don't forget your Rune Locks: you start with one and can collect more. Use them by tapping the pictures in the Spellbook.
• Progress slowing down? Time for a Rebirth.
• Your items stay with you after a Rebirth.
If you like clicker games, you will most likely love Idle Wizard, because no run plays like the last. Behind the game is a developer who is a big idle game fan and has kept expanding it for 7 years. With the third chapter, you now have more ways than ever to shape your wizard exactly your way. Come take a look!
This game is like a breathe of fresh air for idle/tapper games. It reminds me why I fell in love with the genre in the first place. I haven’t felt the overwhelming need to pay for anything in this game to progress, in facts the game has a system for active or passives users to enjoy and it helpfully describes that in the games description. If you’ve been looking for a new game to pass the time then please try this one. We need more games like this. A note to the developer: if the spell section is listed in a specific way then I understand, I just didn’t know I could scroll down and purchase other spells sooner to help me progress faster. It may be helpful to others if you could put spells in a purchase order from least expensive to most. If the list is specifically placed due to other reasons then I understand and hopefully this review helps those that didn’t know this yet!Thank you for developing this game with the idea of making games fun (and addictive) again!
Finally, an idle game not fueled by a developer's greed
Arestortle
When I mention idle games to my friends, they think I'm insane because they're known as a cesspool of timewalls, paywalls, and intense greed from developers in the form of $9.99 for this, $4.99 for that, five minutes of ads for that other thing. All I really want from idle games is a relaxing and chill experience, and I'm even sick of those cash-grabs. And then you have this game: Idle Wizard, a Fair Play Game. It captures all the thrills of similar games (and even uses the formula that put Egg, Inc. on the map), and takes out the $9.99. Even ads are an optional feature of the game, though highly rewarding for those who choose to build around ads, yet the game is still competent and fun to play. Then you have the customization in the form of items and ancient mana (think Epic Upgrades and Golden Eggs), in that every aspect of the game can be upgraded permanently beyond prestiges, from the amount of charges you can make to your generation of power, even extending to increasing the frequency of rewarded ads and boosting their effectiveness. All in all, this is an idle game worth playing even if you're like me and don't have money to spend on games.
Fun game, fun progression
Xplaced
I think overall the game is fun and has a good aesthetic. I’d recommend anyone that likes incremental games to definitely try it. I’d like to see an option to “buy” it and remove ads, as they’re always intrusive. I know it is the “mobile way” but that doesn’t make ads any less obtrusive when asked “waste X time watching this ad, get rewarded with Y stuff”. It’s still ultimately a waste of time even if it gives players in-game items. I guess it’s up to the dev to decide what works best for them vs what people will put up with to play their game. I’m currently still playing it but after a while the ads are annoying and I can see myself stopping relatively soon because of it. On the flip side, I’m sure it is hard as a dev to find the financial model that works for their app. Anyway. Overall, I’d recommend anyone try the game as the game itself seems pretty fun.
Great idle game but I need more!!!

Lots to upgrade and items can be leveled strategically. No pay to win aspects, easy on the ads with no required viewing. The only thing missing is more content as after a few hours it can get a little repetitive. Maybe give the option to hire apprentices that auto click for you or auto level up the cheapest skill or raise the rates for flying orbs, maybe make them stay after regression but they only stick to a specific orb type. Maybe a side mode you can tame monsters to follow you who you can send off on missions for more item upgrade materials or other stuff. Lots of potential. Would like to see this game grow.
