This update for Jamf Unlock is required due to critical updates for the app's internal architecture. All previous versions of the app are no longer supported and will not function. Additionally, Jamf Unlock has been deprecated and will be discontinued in a future release.

The QR code pairing times out after 30 seconds of inactivity. This avoids users getting stuck on the pairing screen if their network connection is interrupted. A new preference key, Use Persistent Session ( key com.jamf.config.auth-use-persistent-session), enables admin control over Jamf Unlock's access to persistent Safari data, such as authentication settings. By default, the key is set to false. As a result: Jamf Unlock will no longer display the Jamf Unlock would like to use idp.com to sign in permission prompt when a user selects the Get started button unless their administrator sets the new preference to true. Jamf Unlock 1.2.0 adds support for integration at the login menu with Jamf Connect as well as clearer error messaging for those who have not fully installed the suite of required software and settings.

This update improves the device pairing experience and resolves some UI issues in Settings > Unlock.
