For the most part the answers are correct, but I have come across one or two that were answered correctly, marked wrong, and then proven that I answered correctly when I reviewed the questions the test said I got wrong, in the answer explanation section. Raid 5 across 3 disks, how many disks can fail without losing data? I chose 1, the test showed 2, and the explanation said I could lose only 1. I know I’m right. I’ve been in IT for over 20 years, help desk, desktop support, sysadmin, security engineer. Please put a team on this and go through these questions to correct the mistakes. I’m sitting for my SSCP exam in a few days and need to cram without running into mistakes like this.
Weirdly many bad questions
Nathan13716
Most of the questions were alright. And I do think the practice tests are overall helpful. But I also encountered many questions with mistakes. Sometimes it’s weird typos or conflated terms. Other times the explanation didn’t quite match the answer. I saw multiple instances of the SAME question. But one version was “pick two answers” and the other was “pick one”. How is that possible? I saw that multiple times. One answer explanation correctly explained that in raid 5 with 3 discs, one could fail before there was an issue. But then the answer was 2 discs could fail, which is inaccurate, and it even said that lots of people got the question wrong. Another question explanation incorrectly claims that raid 4 doesn’t exist. It does, it’s just not really used in practice. One “question” was just a description of a scenario, with no question, and completely unrelated random answer choices. As if the sentence that had the question got left out. Overall the app was helpful for studying but a concerning number of mistakes really detracted from the experience. It’s like the questions were AI generated in bulk and never proofread properly. I was able to pick out some mistakes but how many mistakes went unnoticed? What if I was learning incorrect information? Very worrying in a study app.
Does not accurately reflect CISSP format
Prfine
This app has some great features but also has a lot of BAD features. For example the usability and layout is great. The flash card and different study material options is great. HOWEVER, these test questions are mostly terrible. I’m scoring 31% while I regularly score 70s-80s% in other resources like Thor or Udemy. The CISSP exam ALWAYS spells out acronyms intentionally to prevent confusion. This app intentionally resorts to acronyms for everything making answering questions extremely difficult and untrue to the testing format. The questions often become vague and lack depth, where are the test is more precise, making these questions way more difficult to answer resorting in guessing. The explanations are good after answering a question, but often reflect explanations inconsistent with the phrasing of the questions. Often the questions reference concepts, but the verbiage is inconsistent and weird making you resort to guessing blindly. Example: question asked (paraphrasing here) “what is the process called when people provide information to establish their identity?” It’s often referenced as “identification” or “identity verification”.. something along those lines. The correct answer is “proofing”. While that was easy to determine because of the options given and my understanding the concept, the unusual verbiage makes it more difficult to answer correctly because it is inconsistent with the CISSP books and other resources that reference it as “identification”.Beware if you download this app and pay for it. It’s poorly developed in the sense that it’s intentionally confusing and designed to screw with you mentally, putting you in a bad headspace. The ease of use is great and the different study features are great, but the formulation and verbiage is often inconsistent with the actual CISSP format.
Good App that Supports Official Study Book But Questions are Nothing Like Real Test
JBLT83
I used this app as a supplement to the ISC2 official study guide as a way to test my knowledge anywhere, anytime. Pros: Test History gives you average score that can help you gage your exam readiness. I would say if your average is 75% or above you are good to go for the exam. Cons: Don’t pay any attention to the proficiency score the app gives you for each domain. It’s confusing and uses a weird unknown algorithm logic. ISC2 needs to improve the proficiency algorithm. I will tell you that the practice questions are no where close to the real exam questions. Even though I passed, The real exam questions I felt were written very poorly and designed more to confuse you often leaving you to doubt the answer you chose was what the test creators consider the BEST correct answer and not what the correct answer would be in reality. Nearly two months of preparation and I feel like it was only by the grace of God and lucky guessing that I passed the real exam.
