I purchased this smart watch for my daughter who started middle school this year. The watch itself is fine, but we have had connection issues. The whole point of getting the watch was so we could stay connected when she walks to and from school. During the AWS outage, my daughter could not send text messages to our phone. I only later discovered I could see them in this app in the Messages section. That obviously caused a lot of stress for my daughter and myself as a working parent. We did sign up for the two year plan and I hope that COSMOS works on the connection issues so it’s a more reliable service. I love the watch for its simplicity and the parent controls. But I want a service that we can count on, especially if another outage occurs!

The Cosmo app and watch have been a real win for our 7-year-old. He gets this great balance of independence and security, and it genuinely helps him feel less anxious when he’s out in the world without us right next to him. Being able to check his location is huge for us, and the “find my watch” feature saved the day when it went missing. We previously had the Gabb 3, which doesn’t have that capability, and we ended up losing it for a while. Cosmo came in at a better price and immediately solved a problem we’d already run into.He also loves snapping little photos and sending them to us, which has turned into a surprisingly sweet window into his day. Even his grandma picked up the app quickly, which made handoffs and pickups easier for everyone. The whole system has been easy for extended family to plug into.My only lingering confusion is about the apps Cosmo says you can install on the watch. I haven’t found a clear place in the app to manage those, although I also haven’t tried too hard to figure it out. If that part were more intuitive, it’d be close to perfect. Even with that small gap, it’s been a noticeably better experience than our previous watch and a great fit for our kid.

I absolutely love Cosmo’s technology for my tween kids. We play a lot of sports as a family and have kids that want to stay in touch with friends and family members and needed a tech solution that would give them independence but had thoughtful parental guide rails. This app lets me see what they message and who they talk to without having to invasively take their device. It also tracks location and lets me communicate with them whenever I need to. Lastly it lets me put parameters on watch time that choose what apps can be used when, set time limits on activities, and set hours they are off it and focused. And of course my son loves tracking his steps too. We tried other watches and apps that were glitchy with fewer features but Cosmo stood out as the best solution and almost a year in we love it and have gotten an additional device for our second child. High praise for how they took the needs of parents and kids and put them in action here. Recommend to all our friends.

First off, the watch is ok… that’s why the 2 stars. If you have decent T-mobile coverage in your area it can make and receive calls from the 10 contacts you choose for your child. Note: only “Guardians” can text and have to do it from within this app. My gripe is with this app. The “Safe Zones”, which is the main reason I got the watch, don’t alert you soon enough if your kid leaves a zone. I get an alert 15 minutes after my kid leaves a zone… 10 minutes if I’m lucky. That would not be cool if it were an actual emergency and he was taken. I was hoping an update would fix but it doesn’t appear to be happening. The app doesn’t always work either and the live tracking isn’t that great. I’m very glad I didn’t prepay for a year, or worse 2 years, of cell coverage. I suggest going the month to month route if you really must try it but if I were you, I’d look elsewhere. I plan on investing a little more money and getting my kid the low-end Apple Watch with cellular coverage.
