The Cartograph Maps app allows you to view Mapsforge offline vector maps and record tracks. It offers a variety of features such as viewing Mapsforge offline maps, support for OpenAndroMaps render themes, MBTiles maps, hill shading, and multiple map layer stacking. The app also has features for tracks and routing, including track recording, and offline route calculation using BRouter. Other features include measurement tools, cloud sync, search, and built-in offline overlays. The app is a like rough around the edges with some UX love needed. But the developer is responsive and will answer questions. He put in a custom feature for me when I needed it. I don’t know if any other app where you can download topo maps for so cheap.

I have to write something since this great app has only one review. This app is my choice for hiking use. Being able to use OpenAndroMaps (trails, roads, topo) is perfect. I haven’t found another iOS app this capable for using free vector maps. It deserves more attention (it gets more on Android). Thanks for making this available.

I found recently that the compass becomes completely random. This is repeatable. It seems to occur if the device decides the compass is being recalibrated. So when hiking with the device in your pocket the compass becomes useless, requiring a restart of the app. The device compass is just fine. It’s just the as app.
