This system is great. We have had it for over a year now and I have been able to let my dogs safely roam in their territory. The new update that allows manual correction is fantastic. I can now let them know when it’s time to come home from afar. It only took one static to enforce the beep command to indicate coming back. Because my dogs are also Akbash and Marrema, they did eventually decide the shock was worth crossing the boundary, but they include free sessions with a trainer. I was able to work with a trainer and another stronger collar, that I only had to use once, and they no longer cross the boundary. You do have to keep up with reinforcing training sometimes with stubborn dogs, but not a lot. And when it doesn’t work, the app notifies you and you can see exactly where they are. On escapes I have been able to jump in my truck and track them down, make sure they didn’t get into the road, or shot, and get them home safe. The battery lasts for us from about 6am to about 11pm to midnight. You get a warning at ten percent but I would like a warning when it’s also like at 2 percent or closer because ten is the last warning and that’s still some time. So just a final warning would be good, like a ten minutes left or something. “Time to get the dogs home!” Thanks Spot On, you are always super helpful and responsive and I appreciate it! Johnny and June are safe on what we have been told is the largest fence area Spot On has seen! (16 square miles?)

We moved to a property on 2 acres that wasn’t fully fenced and it’s on a very busy road with traffic going 45+ mph. We tried to train our Golden Retriever Ruby using her e-collar and the remote and walking her along the boundaries and that worked as long as we were outside with her. She quickly learned that if we weren’t around she could leave the yard with no consequence. We got several phone calls from neighbors across the busy road telling us that Ruby had come to visit. We knew it was only a matter of time before she got hit by a car. After doing a ton of research we decided to try SpotOn. I liked the fact that there was no monthly membership required. I am happy to report that Ruby has not escaped once and we feel 100% comfortable letting her roam her yard unsupervised. The fence setup was really easy and she learned the boundaries right away. She is not a very strong willed dog and definitely hates to be in trouble so we have that on our side. While teaching her the boundaries we did use the static setting along the busy road because she had to learn that was an absolute no zone, but now we only turn on the vibrate setting. She self corrects as soon as she hears the tone. Anyone with a strong willed dog (like our previous Golden!) may need different settings. This weekend we are traveling and I’m excited to try setting up a temporary boundary where we will be camping.

I live on 2.5 acres and lots of trees. Another gps collar and inground fence company told me that their product likely would be spotty. I can’t risk that with my Great Pyrenees/blue tick coin hound mix. I started searching and SpotOn fence came up. Once I saw it worked on tree covered areas I was a bit hesitant to believe from what I had just heard from the other company BUT THEN I saw that it was made and built in New Hampshire. That’s where I’m from though I don’t live there anymore and the ENTIRE state is dense tree coverage and spotty cell coverage!!! I was convinced that if it works in NH it will definitely work here and it absolutely does!!!! I love the app and the tracking though honestly she does not get out anymore. Very easy and quick to learn. Was a game changer for peace of mind and my stress. Absolutely get this collar! It works and if it can find and keep your dog in its boundaries in densely covered and remote areas like New Hampshire it will work anywhere!

Overall the product and customer service is excellent. I have had two battery malfunctions. Both were resolved quickly, without hassle, and no charge. But, it was a bit troubling to be without the collar for several days while the issue was resolved. The configuration of the static response is, I believe, probably the most humane configuration and is generally very effective. However, my English Shepherd, Teddi, has a high prey drive. If he spots a deer, squirrel, ground hog or any other critter he takes off like a rocket and zips through the boundary before the static response can happen. His chase is generally very short, even for deer, and he returns home quickly. I purchased the cellular service and have been extremely pleased with this. It provides great piece of mind whenever Teddi is out of sight. In short, if the battery issue is resolved and the static response could be adjusted to trigger when the boundary is breached by a streaking dog, Spot On would be perfect. The customer service is great and they stand behind their product. Overall, I think SpotOn is best system on the market.
