Chorsee is a chores and allowance tracker designed for families. Our goal is to provide a clean and simple app that does everything you need to manage your household.
PROFILES
You will create a profile for each family member to whom you wish to assign chores.
CHORES
You will create color-coded chores and give each a custom icon. You can schedule tasks daily, weekly, monthly, on specific days, or alternating schedules, tailored to your needs.
Chores can be assigned to one or more profiles, can be set to rotate between family members, or be up for grabs to whoever gets to them first.
You can also add notes, reminders, categories, and subtasks to the chores.
Photo proof can be required for specific chores, so you can see if the job was done up to your standards.
BALANCES (optional)
You will choose between Allowance, Points, or No Rewards. Each chore can be configured to pay a certain amount. As chores are completed the values are automatically added to that person's balance. Parents can also make manual adjustments for when they give their kids cash or need to deduct points for other reasons.
We also support automatic balance adjustments in case you want to give a weekly or monthly allowance.
REWARDS
You can configure specific rewards within the app. You set a price and then your kids can track their progress as they work toward the goal. This feature helps kids stay motivated and to learn delayed gratification and planning.
INSTANT SYNCING BETWEEN DEVICES
You can add multiple devices to your household. Each device can be set to Admin mode for parents, or child mode. Kid's devices will only have access to their chore list and won’t be able to edit chores or balances.
WIDGET
We love widgets, and we’ve made a bunch of them! You can mark off chores right from your home screen or lock screen, and as a parent, you can keep tabs on the entire family without needing to open the app.
ACCESSIBILITY
We support dynamic type and dark mode.
CLEAN AND SIMPLE DESIGN
In keeping with our core value of clean and simple, there are a couple of things we’ve chosen to avoid.
NO GAMIFICATION
Doing chores and earning points or allowance isn’t always the most fun thing in the world. We believe that adding coins, badges, or games to our app is a false motivator that doesn’t last. Kids are very smart and will quickly realize this. Hard work and discipline can carry their own sense of reward and we want to help you maximize this.
NO CREDIT CARDS
Linking to a real world credit-card or bank account is simply beyond the scope of what we can accomplish as a small team. Instead, we’ve chosen to focus all our attention on making our app completely self-contained. Our built-in allowance/points tracking system is designed to meet the needs of most families while avoiding the complexity and risk that come with online money accounts. You can easily deduct any amount from the virtual balance in Chorsee when you make deposits into your kid's other accounts.

Works well for my teenagers. My boys both have their own debit cards and I use Chorsee to keep track of any chores they’ve done around the house. Chores = points = money added to their debit cards. They have a clear list of the work that needs to get done and how many points they earn for doing it. If they choose not to do the work or don’t mark it in the app, they don’t get paid. It gives them the same accountability you find in the working world. I check it once a week, convert their points to rewards, then make deposits onto their debit cards. Money not incentive enough for your kids? No problem. You can choose whatever reward you want - extra screen time, night out at the movies or anything else you can imagine. Chorsee is fully customizable. You make your own chore list, decide how many points it’s worth, who it should be assigned to (one person, anyone, in rotation, or any combination), if it repeat and how often, related subtasks, notes, alerts. You can even set it to require photo proof if you have less-than-honest kids (or spouse 🤣). It also helps me keep track of my own to-do list. You can change any of the settings at any time if it isn’t working the way you want.It is worth every penny to not have to constantly nag my family about helping around the house or have to keep delegating tasks. Once you do the initial setup, Chorsee will do the rest.
Awesome App

This app is amazing. Not only has it encouraged my kids to help out around the house, but it also helps them learn the value of money! My kids used to slouch around and watch TV all day. I tried everything such as setting screen times, adding punishments and even taking the batteries out of the remote. I thought it was a lost cause, until one day they came home talking about wanting money. I searched the Internet for an good quality chore app, with money allowances, and an app that didn’t look so baby-ish. When I found Chorsee, I downloaded the app and added my kids. When they saw that they could get money, they immediately started doing chores. They were even doing more than what was on their roster! They learned the value of money when they asked if they could have money for things like candy, games and toys. I told them it would come from their chore money, and their expressions suddenly changed. They didn’t realize that the money they got, was their actual allowance. Nowadays they really think before the buy something, since the money is coming from their own pocket. Thanks for creating a great app!
Started out great

I needed a way to assign chores to my three kids and I was trying a bunch of different chores apps. This one seemed to be the best by far! Easy to use, easy to set up and easy for the kids. So I tried it out for a while before deciding to buy it for the year. That was a mistake. Not sure why but once I bought the upgraded version the problems started. Everything looks correct on mine but my son was the first to tell me he had one chore on there twice. At first I didn’t think much of it I said just check them both off. But then the next day my daughter had chores missing on her list. When I looked on my master list they were on there but when I looked on hers she was right some just didn’t show up. I actually spent a good amount of time looking at everything to see if I somehow messed something up. Everything was set up correctly and my app had everything looking the way it was supposed to be but their apps didn’t always have the same as mine. Since purchasing the upgrade everyday there is at least one chore doubled or missing from at least one kids list. Some two kids get the same chore on their list when it’s supposed to rotate between them and it’s set up correctly. I’m kicking myself that I purchased the upgrade. Wish I would have left it alone while it was working perfectly.
Developer Response
Thanks for letting me know! The upgrade doesn't change how the rotation or chores work.Feel free to reach out via email if you haven't already so I can take a closer look. I have been doing some work on the connectivity issues that sometimes happen and cause schedules to temporarily get out of sync.
Versatile & Efficient

This app has been fabulous for our needs. I work in the behavior intervention field and have used Positive Behavior Intervention & Supports (PBIS) at work for years but always struggled to use the same approach at home without it being incredibly time intensive. This app has changed that. I have a list of reinforcers at home that I change out every couple of weeks that my kids can cash their points in for. I love the option of if the kids can work for points or cash values. My kids know they need to earn points for things like screen time, cash allowance, extended bedtimes, etc. I can make anything a task on Chorsee. If one of my kids is struggling with something, whether it’s a chore or a behavioral skill we’re building, they can earn points for doing these things well, allowing for customization between users. You can choose to have the app prompt or remind the kids of what chores or tasks are available. The feature requiring photo proof is excellent, so that there is true accountability. I also like that I can choose whether tasks they missed the previous day are still available or not. This has cut down on frustration and attempts at never ending negotiations as I no longer have to spend my time reminding them. They either complete the tasks and earn the cash or points associated or they don’t. If I do a task before they muster the energy to do it, those are points that are no longer available for them to earn. It’s as simple as that. This app has been a dream. The only recommendation I would have for future adaptations would be a possibility for “purchases” or “cashing out” in the app, so that parents and caregivers are able to list reinforcers and their cost in the app for kids to then “cash in.” Regardless, I am incredibly happy with this app and the peace and simplicity it has brought to our home.
