Description

Measure the world!

"Great app. Fun and easy to use!"
EasyMeasure® shows the distance to objects seen through the camera lens of your iPhone or iPad. Simply aim your iPhone/iPad to any object in your surroundings, and EasyMeasure displays the distance towards that object on top of the camera image. With its amazing 3D camera overlay grid, using EasyMeasure is very intuitive and easy!

Find out how far it is towards that boat at the other side of the lake. Measure how tall buildings are. Use the app as a golf-aid. Measure your friend's height. The possibilities are endless!

How does it work? EasyMeasure uses the height of the camera lens (determined automatically by AR if your device supports that) and its tilt angle to calculate the distance to the object. A comprehensive animated tutorial on how to use EasyMeasure is included.

-User friendly interface with Retina Display Graphics and 3D engine
-Supports Augmented Reality (AR) to make measurements even easier!
-Measures distance. Can be updated to measure the height and width of objects!

SUPER EASY! AND ACCURATE!

I’ve been using this app for a couple of years now and it keeps getting better (even tho I didn’t think that was possible!) I use it in volunteer work with the Red Cross in measuring locations to figure out how many clients we can shelter, feed, evac etc.... So much easier than using a tape and we have discovered it is REALLY accurate! Everyone wanted to use my phone when we are doing shelter surveys, but now we all have the app!

Instructions are vague and confusing!

I have tried to use this app for years, and I don’t get it!! It says to line up the baseline with the base of the line of the wall base. What is a baseline? I see a square with a bunch of arrows that move around on my screen. What am I supposed to be aiming at what? In the video it shows somebody standing with a phone at their eye level pointing down to the floor in the corner. But when I do that and only says my 22 foot room is only 6 feet long. What am I supposed to be aiming at? And what about the 2 feet distance behind me? How do you in that? If you put the phone against the wall you can’t push the stupid photo button! And you can’t see the screen to see your measurement because the phone is against the wall!

I try and measure my room with my phone at my nose, aiming at the floor, or the base of the wall, or the middle of the wall, or the ceiling in the wall, and I get somewhere between 19 feet and 23 feet, when I move backwards a couple of feet to try and get as close to the wall behind me, it says it’s now 16 feet. I watch the videos, I try to use this thing for years, and this thing is all over the place. Yes I calibrated it! Yes I said the lens height is 52. Yes I said the lens height is 6’2”. Yes I said the lens height is 6 feet. Yes I sent the lens height is 5 feet. Nothing I do no matter where I am it makes any sense? Don’t waste your blood pressure!

Not intuitive

Update: the app has its limitations. I purchased the upgrade, but was disappointed by the features offered and the difficulty of use. The camera image is zoomed in compared to what it looks like when taking a regular photo. This means you have to stand very far back if you’re measuring anything long. I watched the videos and did the tutorial, but was never able to get an accurate measurement. I ended up having to use my tape measure. I’m sure it has its value when measuring things inside on level surfaces, but it just didn’t work for what I needed it for unfortunately.

Haven’t used it fully yet, but will update it when I get the hang of it
