14.8 obscures word scores for results in all but ipad

I just updated my iphone 12 mini to IOS 14.8 and in doing so, elected the zoom option for larger characters in the update only to find that the larger size of the characters means that the word score in word finder is now obscured. I’ve noted previously that you cannot get word scores on my ipod because the screen is too small, so I’ve only been using my phone to use word finder. But now, the screen on the iphone is too small to add scores. Tried to reverse this feature of the update, but unable to. Without knowing the score, the app loses a lot of its appeal. Ideas?

The app works well but has a few weird quirks. For example, if you click on a word to find the definition, you get a black screen that appears to be a one-second video of blackness. You can then close it by clicking the X. Also, some listed words are clearly errors. Also, the paid “no ads” version still has video ads that pop up in that definition screen once you close that glitchy black video.

This is your basic barebones app and hey it works not much needed for something basic like this. Though it would be nice to have some things refined a bit to make it easier to do everything on one page. - consider adding the word rack on the same page as results so one can simple add letters to see what new words the get from trial-n-error without hacving to click back all the time just to get to word rack search. - consider adding an advanced search on the results page that is open view so one can search by “Starts with” “ends with” “contains” and wildcard search are included.

I would actually be writing a stellar review if it weren’t for the terrible, disruptive advertising they have. The ads come at random times and are most often loud videos that take over any other music or sound you may be listening to. And many, if not most, are very off-color, offensive, and certainly not appropriate for children. In no way should it be rated 4+. I’m hoping beyond hope that my little review here will help wake the developer up to this enough to make a change. I find it a serious issue, and I notice they are trying to upgrade the app — what better time to make this very significant improvement?! Put your money into better advertisers!
