To be fair, I’ve only had this thing installed 12 hours, but within ten seconds I could tell something was amiss - this application only seems to know about portrait mode. I checked the obvious - screen lock is disabled. Inspected Settings to see if somehow Landscape versus Portrait is a manual setting. Newp. So for those of us who know how to rotate a device 90 degrees and store their 1100 USD iPad in a protective case with an attached keyboard, the desire to read local news has to be weighed against having to actually *hold* the iPad in hand to avoid an uncomfortable neck ache. And, of course, charging the device while using this app would require placing the device in a potentially dangerous location *or* rotate it through another 180 degrees to the “upside-down” position. The *horror*! I sure hope there’s something interesting up the hill to read about.

Do not under any circumstances sign up for automatic payment for on line service. You cannot cancel it. We moved from the area and tried to cancel on line. You are instructed that you must call to cancel. They will not answer the call or return your call. We called our bank and we were told we would have to cancel our debit card and have a new one issued to stop payment from the bank. The paper gets the benefit of keeping your payments flowing!

The app was updated to V 9 five days ago. Since that time it keeps asking me to subscribe to read more even though I have an active subscription.

I've had this app for several months now and I have NEVER been able to open it and see breaking local news. News articles you know exist must be searched for using keywords! No sensible news categories! No 'Local News' menu! All stories lumped together from national to local. And local news articles that you want to see, such as recent news or popular stories, aren't visible!
