If you ask me to sit down a read a book for 15 minutes, I’d honestly rather listen to an audiobook for that same time period. That’s just my own preference though, because I’m not one to be able to sit down and read without getting easily distracted. This might seem odd but I am one of those people who still grab the hard copy to read even though I bought the audiobook. You can always borrow the book from a friend or from the local public library. Although listening to a book is favorable for my attention span, I acknowledge how reading a book and annotating a book is something helpful as well. I guess you can say that they’re kinda different but the arguably the same thing!Recently, I started to listen to the book and follow along as if it was reading aloud. This somehow takes me back to elementary school where teachers play the book’s recording and all the students follow along. I guess I like how I’m using both my sight and hearing senses together and how I believe I retain it better like this. You can try to see if this works for you as it did for me.My favorite thing about audiobooks is that it’s a good use of your time for long drives to work or anywhere. I absolutely love how it is convenient to play on your phone and how can I turn the volume up in my car. It’s very much worked in my favor driving from LA to the Bay and vice versa. If I didn’t have my audiobooks to listen to, I would have listened to music and got totally got sick of listening to songs for 6+ hours. Therefore, I definitely recommend to try this app for when you’re on-the-go as it could really be a productive use of time!
Easy to use

This app is fairly easy to use, has a good selection of books, great narrators, and has graphic versions for some of the books, which is fun. :) I just have 2 complaints, 1) They have the option for getting 2 books for one credit, which is nice, but that is from a genre of there choice, it's not usually from a genre/section that I may like based from brooks on my wish list, which would be ideal. 2) The credits cost as much as the monthly membership payment, to me that is a bit expensive, I can find/get books cheaper than that other places, I feel like one credit should be maybe half the price, considering that the only way you can get the books from your wish list is through using the monthly credit they give you. I can listen through several long books 13h in a month but I can't afford that when the credits are so expensive. And I have one requests, when I first started listing, about a year or so ago, you had this wonderful option of choosing a genre and using your monthly credit to purchase what you had put in there for that month. Now, with this way, you didn't get to keep the books but you got to listen to as many books as you liked in that genre for that month. If I wanted to keep a book, in my library, I would have to individually purchase it, which was totally fine and worth the option. This option worked really well for me especially since I go through so many books. Will you please bring this option back, Audiobooks?!!!

Thank you for helping us identify areas where we can do better! I have passed along your feedback regarding credit costs and options, and genre-specific listening options, to our product team. We appreciate you listening with us! - JW
Good enough, but could use work

Ok app, great service. Have only listened to one book so far but it was one of the 28 hour books in the Dark Tower series by Stephen King so I think I gave it a fair shot. I’d prefer if it allowed you to use chapter selections instead of choosing by track which just wasn’t the same since they aren’t labeled to give you an idea of what part of the book each track covers. Also the scrolling could use some work - it won’t allow you to simply drag to a different part. If I lost my place (used the book to help me fall asleep some nights) I’d have a hard time finding it again the next day - I’d screenshot the time I started and I’d then have to find the track that was closest then skip forward or backward in 30 second increments. There has to be a better way. But overall I like the app and they have a large selection of books. There hasn’t been a single book I’ve searched for that wasn’t available. Although the search function is also lacking. I don’t think it can find books through a partial title search. I tried searching for “Stephen king dark tower” and it gave me an error. Tried searching for “Stephen king song of” and got an error. He’s written so many books that simply scrolling through a search just for his name wasn’t finding the specific one I wanted. Finally searched for “dark tower vi” and found it. Maybe the coders don’t actually use the app, I don’t know, but I’m sure it would be better if they did.
Good App, Could be Great

First of all, I am a diehard Audible user. It’s my go-to for quality audiobooks. I tried Audiobooks dot com as part of a promotion, and I intended on canceling my subscription after the trial period. Now that I’ve been using the app, I’m debating whether to keep it rather than immediately offloading it. I really like some of the offerings and the way it’s organized; my favorite being the section called “Summaries and More”. I tutor in English and even though I usually read the book along with my student, I like that there is an option for me to listen to a quick, summarized (and yes - opinionated and not even near a complete summary) version of the book. It gives me another perspective to look at, versus reading the book and buying a separate study manual online or spending an hour researching how I’m going to tackle the assignments. I also like the meditation offerings in the Podcast area, they are quick, varied and helpful to me as I am a beginner and need a lot of guided meditation to fall into the “zone”. As for the book selection, the free books they offer are interesting, but definitely can’t compete with Audible’s free selections. The same goes for their for credit/purchase library … it just doesn’t have the immense selection offered by Audible. However, I have found a few gems in both the free and the for credit sections, so it’s not like there’s nothing to peak my interest. All in all it’s a solid app, and I may decide to keep it as an adjunct to Audible once my free trial is over.
