Ratings and Reviews
Takes you granular to the source....
.......of the sounds in each word, as spoken by any individual. Sounds, words, sentences, phrases, conversations; this app can provide you with a scalable foundation to speak like anyone or everyone from a certain region. Tons of fun!
Wrong symbols and sounds
The IPA symbols for the diphthongs are wrong where the I is should be switched with the other letter and the e that is placed there on some should be a o. The sound that is a monophthong and looks like a m on its side should be e as in egg. The rhotacized vowels should have upside down Vs above them to indicate the r sound. And the a in path with that same symbol should be that sound not the e as in egg that is in this app. Please people these systems are super nice, but get it right please.
Vowels not accurate
I'm an American linguist and language teacher. I can't understand why there are so many problems with the monophthong (single vowels). The problems are various:
1. Wrong recording (for example turned "c" has /r/ at the end).
2. Wrong spellings of words ("onion")
3. Misunderstanding of the difference between American and British pronunciation (gives a different recording for every phoneme but should show change in IPA instead).
