Septourian is such a game: it’s also surprisingly rich despite its simple graphics and the generated world" - iOS RPG-site "Got it thinking it would keep me entertained for a bit.. ended up playing for an hour straight. And more. Its a nice crpg with a bit of rogue mixed in, and its a procedural world so thats really nice. The quests are also random so you get things like “i saw a nose drop a regen at artonyian crypt” which gives me a good laugh. I also think the dev nailed the ZX vibes cuz the colours and the music really make me believe this game was made a while ago. Also the lack of story dont bother me as i dont really look for story in games anyways. 9/10" StickMan6000 - AppRaven "Solid little portrait RPG that def gives early dragon quest vibes with a wild color scheme and some rogue elements. Def worth checking out!" J P - AppRaven "Wonderful hidden gem. A highly minimalistic party-based RPG using only the 16 color palette of the ZX Spectrum. The passionate solo dev‘s inspirations for this game were the early Dragon Quest games, Breath of Fire, Final Fantasy 6, Lufia 2, Diablo 2 and the Souls series. Games are randomly created, so the world map is different each time you restart the game. To me, it really feels like an early Dragon Quest prototype, in the best way. The dev also added some quality of life things like the option for auto battle. And that‘s a good thing, because random battles surprise you a lot, and like its influences this game is grindy. Especially early on you cannot move far away from your starting town. In it waits a safe orb where you can use your XP to upgrade your character. Die in battle, and you get revived there, but without any of the hard-earned XP. But you keep all your items and money. So, dying is not too punishing. All in all, it‘s an absolutely lovely little game that is keeping me glued the longer I play. Basically the gameplay essence of a classic turn-based JRPG, minus the epic story."
