Bar Chart Race
Animated chart video for Reels
$7.99 · In‑App Purchases · Designed for iPad. Not verified for macOS.
Turn data into a 9:16 race video — no screen recording. Templates, Open Numbers datasets, and on-device titles. Pro adds 4K, GIF, and music in the file.
Bar Chart Race is a creator studio for animated ranking videos. Import a spreadsheet, pick a look, and export a native MP4 ready for Reels, TikTok, Shorts, and YouTube — in 9:16, 1:1, or 16:9. You never need to screen-record the phone.
Start from a file, a paste, a URL, or the built-in Open Numbers library (World Bank, Gapminder, Our World in Data and more). Watch bars, lines, or donut shares race through time, then export a real video with optional music and a cover frame.
On supported devices, Apple Intelligence writes titles, captions, and shareable insights entirely on-device. Your data does not leave the phone. There is no analytics SDK and no tracking.
KEY FEATURES
• Native video export — 9:16 Reels, 1:1, and 16:9, up to 1080p (4K with Pro)
• No watermark and nothing to subscribe to — buying the app is enough
• One-tap races from the Open Numbers dataset library
• Six visual themes, flags and logos on bars, intro and outro cards
• Bar, line, and donut race layouts
• Music loops and overtake sound effects (baked into the file with Pro)
• Loopable GIF export (Pro)
• CSV, TSV, XLSX, HTML/Wikipedia tables, clipboard, and URLs
• On-device titles, insights, and import help
• iPad three-column layout and Shortcuts (“Export Chart Race”, “Surprise Me”)
• Home Screen widget for your last race — tap to jump back into the player
• Open CSV/XLSX from Files or the Share Sheet
HOW IT WORKS
1. Create a project — or tap Explore and pick a public dataset.
2. Tweak titles, theme, speed, and the visible bars.
3. Play the race, then Export. Choose 9:16 for Reels.
4. Share the MP4, save to Photos, or copy an AI caption.
INCLUDED WITH THE APP
Projects, import, editing, playback, the dataset library, on-device AI, all six themes, all three chart types, and unwatermarked MP4 export up to 1080p.
BAR CHART RACE PRO (optional — yearly or lifetime)
4K export, loopable GIF export, music and sound baked into the exported file, and your own @handle in place of the app credit.
Perfect for educators, journalists, analysts, and social creators who want studio-quality races without a desktop tool.
