Best Digital CCG Since Hearthstone

I was an avid Hearthstone player for years before the constant additions of sets/rotations and game types wore me out. After bouncing around between digital CCG’s, I can easily say that Warpforge has quenched that thirst for a fun, addictive, and competitive experience. If you like CCG’s and 40K, you should try it. If you like games similar to Hearthstone, Gwent, or MTG, you should try it. There are free daily drafts to run (you get 1 free per day), daily missions to complete campaigns to obtain cards/packs/cosmetic, and there’s ranked and unranked play in addition to practice mode which allows you to use your own decks to practice with or pre-made ones. Pre-made a can only be used in practice mode unless it’s the campaign starter deck.

I think it’s important to point out that the developer, Everguild, appears to be listening to community feedback. Less than 2 weeks after launch they took down the cosmetics cash shop due to player input and decided they’d re-work the items into the game so players could earn them instead of buy them. They’ve also already issued a notable balancing nerf to a couple factions, though more balancing still needs to be done. They’ve also issued codes for free cosmetics and packs since launch. All and all, it’s a fun CCG, it can be competitive or casual, and the developer seems to have their heart in the right place. Would recommend to anyone into CCG’s.

Blood for the blood God!

Though it’s too early to fully rate this game, I can say Warpforge has an incredibly fun, deep, tactical, addictive, graphically stunning five star foundation in place that can easily become a must play CCG if the developers continue to build on what is already in place. If you like Warhammer, CCGs, or anything turn based with strategic depth, this game is probably already a must play for you as it was for me.

Between daily rewards, missions, weekly rewards, campaigns, the forge, and the shop there is a good variety of ways to acquire cards. Another fun way to add to your collection is a free daily draft that offers rewards upon completion. The draft is also a great way to try out cards you’ve not acquired yet.

I’ve tried just about every CCG on the market for decades now and I think Warpforge definitely has the potential to be considered among the best of the best in time. After playing so many games over the years it’s difficult for a new one to impress me, but this one has thoroughly done so, and I’m excited for the factions yet to come! Blood for the blood God indeed!

A solid tactical card game!

This game knows what it it wants to be , and who it’s audience is, and seems well positioned to do exactly what it wants to do.

After resolving some early issues with things being hard to read on mobile this game seems to be in a good place. If you’ve played Magic or Hearthstone you have a pretty good idea of what’s going on. I love the faction specific mechanics, Space Marines feel tactical and “mariney” orks feel orky, eldar feel eldary you get it. If you are a fan of 40K and collectible card games, this is a no brainer. If you are a fan of ccgs and don’t know 40K , I think there’s still a lot to offer. If you love 40K but hate ccgs this game may not be for you.
