Hi, I’m Paul – and as a parent just like you, I know the daily struggles of getting kids to help out around the house.
I originally created the Star Reward Charts app to use with my own daughters. I was tired of the nagging, bribing, and daily chore battles, and I wanted something fun and motivating for them—and for me.
It worked better than I ever imagined. Not only did chores get done (without the drama), but my kids actually started to enjoy earning stars and celebrating their wins.
I realized this could help other families too, so now I’m sharing it with you.

Great app so far! I’m using as a token system for my 3-year-old. Only feedback I have so far is I wish I was able to add pictures of the rewards instead of having to choose an emoji 🥲 For example, one of the rewards for my kid is a squishy ball and there’s no emoji for that 😭

We have searched and searched for at least 2 years for the perfect chore app. We wanted one that enticed our daughter to use it and it had to be super easy to use. We didn’t need bells and whistles; just simplicity. Our search *finally* ended today. You hold down the star for completing the chore. The stars add up to the amount that you have set, then you reward them with whatever you chose for that certain amount of stars. They are able to see how many stars are collected in the top right corner and they can see what they are working towards. Our daughter chose ice cream for 35 stars - that’s a win for me, being able to take her to have some mama/daughter time over ice cream cones! I thought our daughter, who is 12, would enjoy the stars option for which rewards to complete, but she switched it to the list; which was a nice option for her. As of right now, I had to login to the parent account on her phone so she could collect her stars on her own without grabbing my phone. The child account does not yet work on a child’s phone to collect stars. That did not deter us. We love this app!

I needed a simple app for positive reinforcement. This works well, has a kid-friendly interface and is nicely customizable. It’s exactly what I was looking for, and an improvement from the other app I’d been using previously. As an aside, I’m grateful that this allows for purely positive reinforcement, but also has the capacity to be setup for positive + negative if you prefer. Thank you for this clean, simple, well-done app.

Great idea, glitchy app

I love the simplicity of the app and the idea of it but it’s just so glitchy. I often have to restart the app to award stars or when switching between child profiles. Today I went in the issue a setback and it sent me to the set up page like it had erased all my data. I tried to go through the setup again but it said it couldn’t create the child profile and to try again later. If those issues were cleared up I’d consider paying for it but as it is it’s not worth it.

4thachildren, I'm sorry. The "erased all my data" moment in January was an early sign of a server issue that we didn't catch and fix until now. It's fixed now and profiles saved before then were preserved on our side. You said you'd consider paying if the issues were cleared. They are.
