Great App Overall, but some issues

This app is fantastic in that it was exactly what I was looking for to help me identify ultra processed foods (to be able to avoid them). It seems to be based on the NOVA food classification system, which is exactly what I was looking for. I love that it identifies which classification each ingredient falls under, which really helps me in learning to recognize these myself when reading labels. There seems to be some issues with the app locking up though when scanning barcodes. If a barcode is scanned that isn’t in the system it gives the option to scan the ingredients list, but this is when the app freezes up and you can’t actually scan the ingredients. I have to close out of the app and reopen it, then switch to scanning ingredients instead of barcode and it will work from there. This happens every time I try a barcode scan that is not in the system. Hopefully this bug will get fixed, because other than that this app is exactly what I was looking for!

Great simple app that has room to grow

Love this app. It’s so easy to use. Definitely has some bugs though. I have two brands of an item with the exact same ingredient list but one is processed and one is ultra processed? You still have to use common sense. It would also be great if you could search the database. It would be much faster to be able to see what brands of varieties of things are better for you rather than having to individually scan each one as you walk through the grocery store. There may be hidden gems you didn’t even think to check.

I’ve only used this app for a short while, but it is phenomenal. The appearance is very appealing and it’s so easy to scan a product. What makes it phenomenal, in my mind, is that if a barcode scan doesn’t return a matching food, it has you take a picture of the ingredient list and it matches those ingredients with its database to develop a rating for you. That’s pretty incredible. This app is doing a great service to the health of its users. Thank you for this app.

The orientation of the pictures is off which makes it hard to take a quick pic without turning the item sideways. Additionally, if the item has a small barcode or ingredients, you cannot leverage the focus function of the camera as you get closer to what you are scanning. When you try and take a picture from far away, the accuracy of the ingredients analysis is WAY off. I have noticed the app will add ingredients that don’t exist in the item, making the accuracy unreliable. And without accuracy, what’s the point of the app?
