I just downloaded the new app for my Farm and Bounty Gardens and what a huge difference. The ability to change the amount of time for the lights and the intensity, along with the duration of sunrise and sunset is soooo much easier to do now. It’s much clearer in navigation and you don’t have to have your phone oriented in a certain manner in order to look at anything. The only fault I can see at this point is the login screen. When I was typing in my password, the page kept getting a popup and it would move my screen to the bottom, which can be a real pain if you’re trying to see what you are typing in. But this isn’t so bad that I felt it needed to lose a star. I am very impressed! Bravo Aerogarden!!!

I was so bummed when Scotts announced AeroGarden’s closure last year. I’ve had my 9-pod countertop garden for a couple years now, and I absolutely love it! It always ensures that I have fresh herbs for cooking, which makes such a positive difference. I will say, though, the old app was a bit dodgy to use, especially since it only worked in landscape view. Still, I loved the product, so I didn’t go out of my way to leave a bad review for the app. Anyway, after accepting that I would have to self-support the remaining life and use of my garden, I was pleasantly surprised when I saw that AeroGarden had decided to relaunch with continued product support and a new app! Welcome back, all! Let’s groooooooooow! :)

I’ve had my XL for about a year. I have grown larger plants such as peppers and tomatoes and decorative plants like pink petunias and I have grown salad vegetables and cilantro. . I haven’t had a lot of luck with cucumbers but I have gotten a couple. It’s easy to clean and maintain. There isn’t a flooding risk like with tier style hydroponic gardens. It’s simpler for beginners than tier gardens or the Gardyn, which is expensive and has great support but serious design flaws and is a monster to clean. I have been through several hydroponic gardens and this one is a keeper.

I found the updated app while starting a new garden and was happy to see a brand new interface. Also happy that I don’t have to hold my phone sideways to use the app! This version provides a lot more information than the old one did and generally seems nicer. Light/dark mode which I just noticed is a plus.However, every time I tap the icon on the home screen, I am presented first with the screen from the old app and then it quickly switches to a screen with a download option. I have to tap that to move on. It sends me to the App Store, then I have to open the app. Those extra steps are annoying and that’s one reason I did not give the app a higher rating. But this version is definitely a big step in the right direction!
