Monarch Goal Planner
Undated Goal Planner
Free · In‑App Purchases · Designed for iPad. Not verified for macOS.
Break big goals into tasks and subtasks, then focus on what's actually in motion. No due dates, no overdue badges, no pressure. Just steady progress.
Monarch is an undated planner to help keep track of goals and projects with easy focus on what is happening now without losing sight of what comes next.
Have you dreamed of writing a book? Want to craft a quilt or refurbish your bathroom? Monarch is the goal-oriented project management tool that helps you break your ambitions into manageable milestones and tasks. Effortlessly organize projects by different spheres of your life, such as work and home.
Great for entrepreneurs, parents and hobbyists alike. Monarch is the simple, lightweight goal planner and project management tool for anyone managing multiple moving pieces in their life.
Some goals need a deadline to get you moving and for those, due dates do exactly what they should. But other goals aren't a motivation problem at all. Writing a book, refurbishing a bathroom, finally starting that quilt... you already want to do these, on your own time, for the enjoyment of it. The only real challenge is keeping track of every piece so nothing slips between sessions. Monarch is built for that second kind of goal: there are no due dates anywhere in the app, on purpose.
BREAK IT DOWN, THEN FOCUS
Turn a goal into tasks, and tasks into subtasks, until each piece feels doable. Then mark whatever you're actually working on as In Progress. That's the only signal Monarch cares about. Everything else waits quietly until you're ready for it.
ONE SCREEN FOR WHAT'S ACTUALLY MOVING
Focus shows only the tasks you've marked In Progress, grouped by the goal they belong to so you aren't distracted by a wall of everything you'll eventually need to do. Work through what's live, then pull the next thing forward when you're ready.
ORGANIZED BY THE DIFFERENT PARTS OF YOUR LIFE
Group your goals into categories: Work, Home, Crafts, Health, or whatever shape your life actually takes. Each has its own color, so you can see at a glance what belongs where.
NOT EVERY GOAL NEEDS MOTIVATING
Other goal planners lean on due dates because deadlines are genuinely good motivators...for some goals. Monarch is for the ones where that's not the point. Take a day off. Take a month off. Nothing goes overdue, because nothing was ever due. You're not being pushed toward the finish line; you're just never losing your place.
BUILT TO STAY OUT OF THE WAY
Works offline, syncs quietly across your devices, manages unlimited projects, and looks just as good in dark mode. Minimal by design, so the focus stays on your goals, not the app around them. Built to fit an iPhone SE without feeling cramped, and just as sharp stretched across a full iPad.
A SMALL WAY TO DO GOOD
Every goal helps you become something new. 10% of every subscription helps A21, an organization working to end human trafficking, give someone else that same chance.
Monarch Planner is available for a Get Organized monthly ($.99) or annual ($12.99) subscription that includes access to all features and supports continued improvements and new features. Both offer a free trial to give you time to get to know Monarch and decide if it works for you. You can cancel at any time.
