See how much daylight you get today, how fast it is changing, and when the day next passes a full hour. Now with a calendar, recent places and a fresh look for iOS 26.
Stay in sync with the sun. daxlys shows how much daylight there is on any day, anywhere in the world – and how fast it is changing.
Key features:
- Today at a glance: Sunrise, sunset and total daylight where you are.
- Day by day: See how many minutes the day has grown or shrunk since yesterday.
- Solstice comparison: Understand how daylight shifts with a clear comparison to the last solstice.
- Milestones: When the day next passes a full hour, how long until the solstice, and more.
- Explore the world: Search for any city or place, or tap the map, and save your favourites.
- Time travel: Step day by day, or pick any date in the calendar to see how daylight changes across the year.
- Widgets: Follow the change on your Home Screen and Lock Screen.
- Midnight sun and polar night: Works in the far north and south, too.
- Simple and intuitive: A clean interface with light and dark appearance.
Plan your days better, whether you're an early riser, a stargazer, or simply curious about the patterns of light and dark.
daxlys calculates the length of the day for a given location using algorithms from the book Astronomical Algorithms by Jean Meeus. The calculations may be inaccurate at times and are only meant for informational and educational purposes. They should not be relied upon for precise astronomical observations or time-sensitive activities.

What's new in daxlys 1.4
• A fresh look built for iOS 26, with Liquid Glass throughout.
• Pick any date: tap "Choose date" to open a calendar and see the daylight for any day.
• Recent places: places you've chosen now appear in the Location tab, so getting back to them is one tap.
• Arrange your favourites in whatever order you like.
• Choose Light, Dark or System appearance from the menu in the top corner.
• Midnight sun and polar night are now shown properly, telling you the sun doesn't rise or set that day, instead of showing an error.
• The widget and the location permission prompt are now available in Norwegian and Danish.
• Smaller fixes: the launch screen fills the whole display on newer iPhones, and day lengths are written out the same way everywhere.
