After giving birth, a mom’s healing often takes a back seat—but your wellness matters. Myana helps you care for yourself while caring for your baby. The app was designed by healthcare researchers and medical professionals, with active involvement and feedback from new moms like you.
Our goal is to make sure you are supported and have the information you need after giving birth. With Myana, you can:
Understand your body’s healing in the early weeks after birth—and learn about when to get help.
• Daily healing check-in for the first six weeks to learn about healing normally
• Critical warning signs of infection, excessive bleeding, preeclampsia (yes, it can happen after birth!), or other postpartum complications
• Symptoms that are expected, and when to contact your doctor
Learn a little each day about how your body changes in the early weeks after childbirth.
• Tips and strategies for managing pain and keeping yourself as comfortable as possible, whether you deliver vaginally or by C-section.
• Hormonal changes, like mood swings, sweating, thinning hair—and when you can expect things to even out.
• Pelvic floor health and therapy, urinary leakage, incontinence
Get tips on baby feeding, sleep, and how babies communicate their needs.
• Breastfeeding, pumping, bottle feeding, and combination feeding
• Baby sleep patterns, swaddling, safe sleep practices, and sleep cues
• What babies communicate through cries and other noises
• How to soothe and comfort your baby
• Positive parenting advice that set you and your baby up for success
Learn about self care and wellness, and the difference between the baby blues and possible signs of depression.
• Quizzes for reflecting on mental health, and tracking how you feel
• Tips for navigating your new role as a mom, and making space for changes in your identity
• Social connections, relationships, asking for help
• When and how to re-introduce physical intimacy
• Considerations for going back to work, self advocacy, balancing responsibilities
Watch for important milestones in your baby’s first year of development.
• Activities and habits that can support how they connect, move, play, and learn
• When babies smile, roll over, develop motor skills, make baby talk, pull up to stand
• Normal variation, and differences for babies born premature
• Where to go for help with milestones
You can also find out about resources available in Pennsylvania for help with food, housing, childcare, medical needs, and parenting (Myana was built with the support of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.)
When you wonder whether what you’re experiencing is normal, when you’ll feel like yourself again, or whether you’re “doing it right,” Myana will be there to help you on the journey.
Mothers, you are not alone.
