I was traveling in NYC and wanted to find some places I hadn’t been to. Pulled it up and found 3 spots right away

Unlike what it says on their website “Barley is free to download on the App Store and Google Play, with optional in-app purchases. You do not need a paid download to browse nightlife, save spots, or build a night plan.” after downloading the app and creating an account you must select a recurring payment plan or free trial that auto renews with a payment to use any feature the app offers. You cannot use this app without a free trial or payment. False advertising

Developer Response
You're right, and I'm sorry. That line on our website was wrong and it has been corrected. Barley is a paid membership: the download is free, but after setup you pick a plan ($1.99/week, $5.99/month or $19.99/6 months) and there is no free tier. We should have said that plainly. If you were charged and did not mean to be, email me at jake@barleynightlife.com and I will sort it out. Jake, Barley cofounder
