Places by Gyroscope is the easiest and most powerful way to track your life. Turn on the tracker once. Places quietly maps everywhere you go, and how you got there. Open the app tonight, next week, or five years from now, and it is all there: a detailed timeline and map of where you went. Not just the places (restaurants, cafes, work, the gym, thousands of custom locations) but the trips between them. Did you walk? Drive? Take a bus, a train, a rideshare, a bike? Dozens of travel types are available, to capture the complete timeline of your life—the places you go, and the travels that take you there. You probably remember what you did today. Maybe yesterday. But what about last week? Three months ago? Five years back? Memory fades fast. Places is designed to automatically capture it. And with Places Unlimited, you can store your full life history with no limits. (New accounts get 30 days of complimentary storage, with the option to export at any time) AN AUTOMATIC JOURNAL See where your time actually went. Reflect on your week. Read the story of your life, written by simply living it. LIVE AN ACTIVE LIFESTYLE Connect your Apple Health to see analytics of your steps, VO2Max and workouts. Places gives you the tracking and feedback to live and maintain an active lifestyle. TRAVEL, AND SHARE IT Customizable share cards export maps, timelines and visualizations of any trip, whether it was around your neighborhood or around the world. Post them, send them to a few close friends, or keep them entirely to yourself. WORK AND MILEAGE Track driving in a company vehicle for mileage logs and tax forms. Track hours on a jobsite for billing. If your job requires you to be somewhere, Places is the record, and it saves hours of manual entry. FOR THE WORLD TRAVELER Every city and country you have been to, with the time you spent in each. Useful for tax residency, visa applications, Schengen day counts, and medical forms. PRIVATE BY DEFAULT Sharing is granular, so you decide exactly what leaves your phone: anonymized city stats, a simple visualization, or a detailed map. Your data is never sold. There are no ads. Places is part of the Gyroscope network and uses the same account as the Gyroscope app and website. MEMBERSHIP Free members get 30 days of storage to see how it works and to start building their timeline for zero cost. During that time, you can save unlimited images or export your data as CSVs. Premium membership unlocks advanced reports and analytics, with unlimited storage in Gyroscope Cloud so your whole history lives in one place across years or decades. Membership is what funds the service, and we never show ads or sell data. Gyroscope Places Premium is an annual subscription, costing $96/year in the United States. Prices may vary by region. Payment is charged to your Apple Account at confirmation of purchase, and renews automatically each year unless canceled at least 24 hours before the period ends. Manage or cancel in your Apple Account settings. WHAT MEMBERS SAY "Love being able to go back in time, it feels like a superpower at times. As Jobs once said, you can only connect the dots looking backwards." - Mert "I use Gyroscope daily to track my path through the world and as a historic look back to see where I have been." - Joseph "As a travel enthusiast I really enjoy this feature, and even when not traveling to any exotic location I just like keeping track of where I have been every day." - Patriq Terms of Use: https://gyrosco.pe/terms/ Privacy Policy: https://gyrosco.pe/privacy/

the best app to track your travels

I've been tracking my life in gyroscope for almost 12 years. now I can see and search it all in one simple app. the tracking is even more accurate too, with the cafe down the street being automatically detected when I go and an accurate walking route. the older app would have it all as just one visitmy memory isn't the best so I would probably just forget after a few years. now I can scroll through my new places passport and the memories come flooding back. the custom art for every city makes going somewhere new even more excitingif you like to travel or go to restaurants, this app is for you

Pretty but frustrating

This app is plagued by annoyances. It can’t handle multimodal transportation (e.g. walking to the bus). If I hang out somewhere random taking pictures, it simply will not accept that I might not want to name that arbitrary place—the only option is deleting the stop from my timeline entirely. If my GPS drifts while sitting at work, it thinks I went for a walk, and removing that from my timeline leaves a gap. It consistently guesses that a new place I visit is some garden I went to once, five blocks away, rather than any businesses that actually exist in the vicinity. If you stop by somewhere briefly enough it doesn’t detect it, you can convert the *entire travel* to a visit, but not just the period you actually spent at the place (so instead of walking, visit, walking back, you simply teleported and spent much longer at the place). There’s more, but anyway, you get the idea. On the plus side, it looks nice, and doesn’t seem to use that much battery. The pricing is also kind of wild considering everything happens on my device — if it actually worked, I’d even be willing to spend multiple dollars a month on it, but $100/year is crazy! But regardless, based on my experience so far, I’ll have to keep searching for alternatives.

This is truly one of the most beautiful and thoughtful apps I’ve used in a long time. It’s truly a next level design that thinks through every detail and animation. It’s not great design just for great design either. Well thought out and helpful!

If you ever used the old Moves app, this feels like a V3 of that experience. So many thoughtful considerations for what the modern traveler wants to see. Love it!
