Find extra help for youth sports practices and discover on-the-fly opportunities to earn service hours with Youth Sports Connect.
Youth Sports Connect is an application that seeks to aid two main groups of people: student-athletes who have trouble earning service hours with the tight schedule they have and understaffed volunteer-run youth sports teams. With the app, coaches send out requests detailing the type of aid they need, whether it is help with directly coaching sports-specific skills, helping set up and clean up the field, or being one-on-one with a special needs team member to give them the extra assistance they require. Meanwhile, the high school volunteers can receive notifications for postings specific to their preferences or browse the app to find listings to sign up for that work around their busy schedules. Instead of being open to all, and to ensure the safety of those involved, Youth Sports Connect will only be open to students who are in the Youth Sports Connect club of their respective schools and will only be open to coaches who are with organizations registered with the local high school club. As time goes on, the number of clubs will grow once quality at larger scales can be ensured.
