Not challenging enough

I get bored with this game if the puzzles are too easy, but you can’t choose your difficulty and leveling up is grueling - you get I think 20 points per game and need *hundreds* of points to advance. I’m trying to slog through to get to the good part, but there was a recent update that made the game even easier by putting in a few pieces at the start of the game and there’s no setting that I can find to remove this. I don’t know how much longer I’ll be able to keep up if I don’t advance soon, there’s no fun in finishing a puzzle in 30 seconds.

Feels like lazy auto-generated puzzles

This is too easy… repetitive tiles, too generous with the “not equals” areas even in hard mode, and a lot of no-brainer moves. Not to mention the minuscule typeface and no contrast between colored colors and white text so it’s very difficult to read even with my young eyes. I love the NYT pips and downloaded this to feed my addiction, but feels less like a brain teaser and more like a waste of time.

This app allows for duplicate tiles (e.g. two 2-3s) in your hand, which significantly reduces the challenge. Still decent enough I guess, but that lowers the quality for me and doesn’t incentivize me to play.

This update rebuilds the entire game around one goal: puzzles that truly make you think. • Every puzzle regenerated with a new solver-verified engine — no more boards where any move works. Hard mode finally demands real deduction. • No duplicate dominoes — every tile in your hand is now unique. • A real difficulty curve — Easy, Medium and Hard each feel distinct. • Smarter hints — misplaced dominoes get flagged in red and returned; clean boards get a correct move revealed with a polished animation. Hints are never wasted. • Move dominoes directly on the board — drag a placed tile straight to its new spot. • Bigger, clearer rule labels with fixed contrast in light and dark mode. • Fixed: Undo could shift or drop rotated dominoes.
