What if you could remember a moment without a single photo?
Ambientrace is a camera app that captures — then erases — your photos. Instead of keeping the image, it extracts the ambient data hidden within that moment: the colors of the scene, the weather, the sounds around you, and the atmosphere you were in. That's all that remains. A trace.
**How it works:**
1. Take a photo — of anything, anywhere
2. Watch it dissolve — the image breaks apart into colors and data
3. Keep the trace — what remains is a color palette, atmospheric labels, weather, location, and sound level
The photo is gone. But something more interesting stays.
Later, when you look back at your traces, you'll find that a handful of colors and the words "Quiet Afternoon, Warm Sunlight, 18°C" bring back the scene more vividly than any photo could. Your imagination fills in the rest — and that's the point.
**What Ambientrace records:**
- Color palette — the dominant colors extracted from your photo
- Atmospheric labels — AI-detected context like "Rainy Commute" or "Sunday Morning Coffee"
- Weather & temperature — conditions at that exact moment
- Location — where you were
- Ambient sound level — how loud or quiet it was around you
- Atmospheric Time — not "14:32" but "Afternoon" — because that's how you actually remember it
**What Ambientrace doesn't keep:**
- Your photos — deleted immediately after processing, never stored, never uploaded
