Fixes and small improvements across the daily devotional, reading plans, and journal.

New: a free plan to read the Bible in a year. Start it from the Plans tab and it shows up on Today alongside your devotional, so keeping it going is one tap a morning. Read the day's chapters in the app, in a reader built for ten quiet minutes — real paragraphs, poetry set as poetry, nothing else on the page — or tick the day off if you read a paper Bible. The text is the World English Bible, bundled with the app, so it works offline. Today shows every plan you're running at once. The Daily / My Tract switch is gone — your plans sit in a strip above the verse, each with the day it wants from you, and the daily devotional is still right underneath. The Tracts tab is now the Plans tab, and it keeps the two kinds of plan apart: the year-long read at the top, the focused devotional plans below it. Also fixed: when a plan devotional can't load, Today says so and offers a retry instead of sitting on a spinner forever.

Fixed: a subscription could stop unlocking premium content. David was sometimes creating a new purchase identity before your sign-in had finished, which left a paid subscription attached to an account the app no longer recognized. It now waits for sign-in, and puts a stranded subscription back on its own — there's nothing to tap. Also fixed: progress you made on a devotional plan while offline could be lost when the app reconnected. The whole backlog syncs now, not just part of it.

David 2.0 is about the devotionals themselves. Every daily devotional has been rewritten — shorter paragraphs, cleaner formatting, easier to actually sit with on a phone. Devotional plans got a refresh too. The catalog is now open for everyone to browse, and two new 7-day plans join the lineup: one on fatherhood, one on forgiveness. A week is a commitment you can keep. Also fixed: the rare morning where the app said your devotional was "on its way" and never delivered it. It delivers.

You stay signed in now. If you closed David and came back to the sign-in screen, that's fixed — closing the app no longer ends your session. You'll need to sign in one more time after this update. After that it holds. Thanks to the reader who reported it.

David has a new look. The verse is set large and on its own now, because it's the thing the app is actually about. The reflection and prayer sit underneath it, and there's one clear button to finish the day instead of three of them competing. A reader asked to be able to go back and reread the day's verse — so finishing no longer takes over the screen. Mark the day complete and the verse stays exactly where it was, for as long as you want it. Journaling is free. Write on today's devotional without a subscription, and your last seven entries stay open. Pro keeps your full history. Your streak shows the week. Next to the count you'll see the last seven days, so a missed Tuesday looks different from a clean run. Share a verse. Tap the share icon on any devotional to send the day's verse as a card — good for a group chat or a friend who needs it. If you're on a tract, the day strip is on the home screen now, so you can see which days you kept without opening the plan. A new icon, to match. Same crown. Better reminders if you fall off. The app used to go quiet after a week away. Now it checks in a few more times before it lets you go. Plus bigger buttons, clearer labels on anything that needs Pro, and stability improvements. If something's missing or an idea occurs to you, there's a Request a Feature button in Settings. It's how the verse change above got made.

Fixed an issue that could leave some readers stuck without a new devotional. Fresh devotionals now stay well ahead of your reading, and if something does go wrong the app will tell you instead of sitting silent. You can now send feedback straight from Settings — we read everything. Plus stability improvements.
